barryj
I might be getting new boots from YYZCanuk and they offer intec heels for $79 cad/$58 US All I have experience with is Fins version....but at less than half the price the Intecs heels are tempting! Anybody got any experience with both??
skhil
Keep in mind that Intecs don't have replaceable pad. On the plus side they are lighter. I feel they also have better grip on the surface (when walking, obviously). The drawback is they are less durable. It's easier to wear through the plastic case and once you do it the mechanism will get stuck if filled with snow. Don't let it happen. Heel should be replaced before that. Overall it's hard to say which will come cheaper in the end. With intecs you'll have to replace the whole hill when the sole wears through. However intec heel lasts longer than fintec replaceable pad. I suspect the answer depends on your use pattern.
drschwartz
Have used both with my high school team over many years. Fintec is by far more durable and smoother functioning. Just keep ahead of the heel pad wear. Usually replace about once a year
big mario
bigger guys can shear the support ears off of intec, which puts all of the load on the pins, which are not designed to carry any load other than holding your boot to the binding. stick with the fintecs
