Factory Prime Replacement

Recommended Posts

I've been riding a couple of Factory Primes (length: 167) for the past 3 years and absolutely love them. Unfortunately, I've completely blown them out, they are limp and I can't seem to get my hands on any others.

Wondering if anyone out there that has ridden and loved Factory Primes can point me in the right direction to other boards.

Thanks.

If you're looking for a replacement deck, I've a 167 FP in excellent condition.

I'm not exactly sure of the model year, but it's the one with the blue metallic fleck/lime green base. It has been ridden very little and is in excellent condition. Board has plenty of camber. Base and edges are in outstanding condition, topsheet is as well, tho' it has a few small scuffs and scoring from bindings and a few small surface scratches.

As you know, the FP 167 is a great board. It rips amazing arcs and is stable at speed. This board is in excellent condition and you can look forward to many seasons of high performance carving on it!

You're welcome to it for $225 plus shipping.

Cheers,

I was a major Burton Boy for 12 years. I rode nothing but PJs and FPs until 2000. Then I tried Prior and Donek and really liked them - a lot. The FP167 is interesting because I believe it has about a 13m radius? That is similar to the Prior WCR181, which I have ridden and is a spectacular board. Or you might like the Donek Freecarve 171. That comes in two waist widths, 19.5cm and 18cm, but the radius is 11.2m, so it would be turnier than your FP167. It's another spectacular board though. Coilers are great but they're sold out for next year. Madds rip too but ride much differently than your FP.

ps - boostertwo's board is a 1997 model.

I rode an FP167 for a season before switching to a Donek FreeCarve 171. The FreeCarve is definitely stiffer than the FP, but has way, way more edgehold. I felt the increased stiffness was offset by the tighter turning radius. Haven't ridden the FP since...

Have been riding FP's for years and love them. Yes I ride F2 and Oxygen Protons and Rossignol World Cup but something about this 173 is just majic. It is a few years old now and I did not ride it for a year or so but rode it in Mammoth right before Thanksgiving in great snow and it blew my mind. Real predictable and just a joy to ride. The board will rock big time if you want. Still have a couple Ultra Primes and a Alp and Amp. Jake makes a good deck for sure!! jp
