JohnE
This may be a dumb question for those running softboot setups but here goes: The mounting disks have slots. Setting up the disks with the slots along the length of the board allow one to micro-adjust the stance. Arranging them across the board allows one to micro-adjust the boot position across the board. What is the intent? What is "correct"? What do people prefer?
scottishsurfer
Most disks are intended to be used either way with the exception of mini disks which can only be used to alter stance width. I generally use them to fine tune my boot position across the board since my prefered stance is often the reference stance.
JRAZZ
On most bindings there is no "correct" way. you mount it in a way that allows you to get the correct stance. If you really want to dial in that 21.5" and your board gives you 21.75 you can use the slots running lengthwise. If you feel you have too much toe overhang you can use it widthwise. I say most because Burton ReFlex only let you set up the bindings with the slots running across the board. For some it's a problem for others it's not. JohnE
I suppose if you wanted to fine tune the position of your rear foot (because it is closest to perpendicular to the board), you could set the rear disk cross-ways and fine tune your stance by positioning the front disk along the board axis. scottishsurfer
Yes there is no issue with that on normal disks :). I kind of forgot about burtons disks since i use the older style disks that are non relfex. Im curious if ryan uses reflex disks or the older ones like myself
softbootsurfer
do whatever it takes to put the toe and heel equal distance from the edge...they are very good for allowing you to do just that...
