ripitup
Does anybody else get a little play in there TD3 bindings?? Every bolt is tight, but I can see the rubber disc's moving. Any suggestions thanks.
Corey
That's by design. The idea is to let the board float around under the binding. If you want complete rigidity, you need to go to Catek (no longer made), Bomber TD1, or make something yourself. Note that this is the opposite of the direction most people are going, but there are passionate believers on both sides of the stiff/soft binding front. There are three stiffnesses of E-rings available if you want a firmer ride. http://bomberonline.3dcartstores.com/TD3-E-ring-Set_p_54.html
ripitup
Thanks Corey, but it just started to do it. I've been riding with these bindings for about 4 years now. The front one moves a little and the back doesn't move at all. I just find this very weird to all of a sudden start moving.
Beckmann AG
Is the binding moving relative to the board, or is the elastomer moving relative to the board and binding? Also, what color elastomer?
snowwjob1
It may be the shaft at the bails is getting worn out. I have had that problem. I thought the bindings were moving and they weren't it was play in the shaft.
Corey
Take them off the board and/or apart. Could be as minor as loose screws or deteriorated e-ring, or as major as a core failure where the 4x4 inserts are pulling up.
lonbordin
Also the center disc can sometimes be put together off sync with the cant... I may have made that mistake once... noticed it before riding though!

Beckmann AG
That being the case, swap the front elastomer for the rear elastomer. If the problem follows the elastomer, then the 'loose' one has been pounded to death, or the e-ring has shrunk, or it's been cut. If the problem remains at the front, the inserts may have pulled, in which case, move the bindings to another set of inserts to verify. If the inserts are solid, and you want a quick fix, cut a shim identical to the elastomer footprint (or two) out of a milk jug to 'thicken' the loose e-ring.
