Bob L.
Yes, this is a pretty small mountain and I'd never been there until last year, but I picked up a pass for me and the kid for this season because I was pleasantly surprised at the bang-for-the-buck factor of the early season deals last spring (includes nights). Several really good carving runs and the snowmaking/conditions were very good. I ran into only one other hard-booter last year and was hoping that there might be some more people to carve it up with this year. I work in Dover and will be doing a lot of mornings there this coming season before heading in to work. Any locals going to be on the hill weekdays this season?
powdahbonz
Might be there a bit, moved recently and only 45 miles to Gunstock. Haven't been there for years but willing to give it another shot.
Bob L.
On the hill first thing tomorrow. Anyone else?
Jeffrey Day
Hey Bob, I've not been too Gunstock in a LONG time and was thinking about going there some time! What might be some trails to ride? Any chance you'd be going there any time soon? Jeff
powdahbonz
On another note, never ridden at King Pine but drove by it on my way back from Jackson Sunday and the conditions looked really go and hell, 100% open. I know, it's small and 40 trails but who is 100% open right now in the east? I'm about an hour from Gunstock and been thinking about going after work some night, unless anyone happens to have next Tuesday off and wants to go. derek
Bob L.
Jeff, Pistol is my favorite and is usually in great shape (as long as they don't let the right side bump up, but that would require extra snow:). Phelps (which for some reason is still not open) and Smith are good wide carvers and Middle Trigger, especially the upper part (which has a little more pitch and is wider than it looks on the map) is great . I'm going this Sunday with a couple of kids who will have me in the terrain park on skis once the crowds show. I hate carving in crowds so I do an hour on the coiler and then on to skis. I have use-it-or-lose-it before April vacation time so if anyone wants to play hooky on a weekday, shoot me a PM and let's set it up. Need more carving legs before the ECES. powdahbonz
Anyone interested in Tuesday riding? Forecast looks bleak for Monday forecasting 50% of rain and 47 . Open to suggestions

beastrider
I've been riding hardboot at Gunstock but usually nights and weekends. Looking for people to ride with there. Try Stonebar or Cannonball on skiers left off the tiger triple. Usually less busy all day. Stonebar was practically untouched on a Saturday afternoon last week. powdahbonz
I'll see what I can do, Brian...after Wednesday's rain, it's gonna need a couple days to soften up. Derek
beastrider
No doubt. Conditions should be great later this week. Rode the Donek 185 Saturday at gunstock and absolutely loved it. It surprised me and turned much easier than I expected. My son actually told me that board is pretty sweet. Its nice to be a cool dad. Thx for a great board Derek. powdahbonz
Excellent! Glad to hear it! Did you ride with/without plate? It's a pretty forgiving ride with either and you can tighten it up when needed. Enjoy!
beastrider
Rode the plate. Go big or go home right? Used td2 bases to minimize stack height. Felt normal. No learning curve at all. Wasn't sure what to expect being the first ride with a plate. Was a real blast to ride.
powdahbonz
My son has a school trip to Gunstock so looks like I'll be at Gunstock on Sunday if any of you locals are interested in carving.
