boidy77
hi there, i am looking for some advice and i apologise in advance if this has been asked previously. i ride hardboots n burton race plate bindings . most boards i buy are too slim and cause me to boot out unless riding higher angles. is it possible to buy some kind of spacer/ spacing block to place between the binding and board? im thinking this would allow me to ride less angles at times n still not boot out causing edge/boot to catch? on one of my boards i hqve these round power plates but they onlyraise
boidy77
tablet playing up'.... the power discs i was mentioning only raises the binding around half an inch. any comments or ideas would be appreciated
lowrider
If you have access to a few tools you could fabricate your own spacers using a white plastic nylon cutting board. The tricky part will be sourcing the longer length metric screws to reattach the bindings.
BlueB
Burton Risers for 1/2" rise, Palmer for up to 1" rise. Or DIY. However, you should really just ride higher angles or buy wider board.
www.oldsnowboards.com
A couple additional options that do add weight and are perhaps a bit more expensive. Consider a full plate system. or perhaps a Bomber Power Plate? Intended for soft boot bindings , however I am not sure why you couldn't use it for Burton Race plates either? The Burton "Universal Cant" would create some life also if you can find them. Edited August 3, 2014 by www.oldsnowboards.com
rjnakata
or perhaps a Bomber Power Plate? . I've never seen it with a race plate, but that's genius.
boidy77
really appreciate the feedback and ideas guys. i have a large foot (13+) so wide boards are sometimes bit harder to find here in australia. i ride high angles on my carving board bubt wanted to sort a more freeride board. the boiler plate aint cheap but i like the idea of the power plates, are they a 2x4 screw mount like the race plates? knowing the stresses put on the bindings when riding makes me concerned doing diy as im not that talented haha the palmer risers look good Edited August 4, 2014 by boidy77 my stupidity
jacopodotti
You can find all the parts of the burton race plate at http://www.carvecompany.com/index.php?id=binding-speed&L=1 or even better http://www.bomberonline.com/VBulletin/showthread.php?42891-bomber-power-plates-installed-n-ready-to-ride that I think give some advantages of the TD 2/3 to normal bindings
boidy77
thanks bro' i bought the power plates and they are sweet ! i previously bought spare parts for the bindings thru carvers paradise who are a carve company reseller but the parts dont seem to be correct so might try and buy direct from carve company.
