AaronG
Any interest in havin this up at Summit this year? We could wait a few weeks to see if the snowpack improves??
slopestar
I would love to attend. We need to invade Mt High though. Coverage here in June is garbage and so is Mammoth. Local mountains are far better
Terryw
I would vote for Summit (big surprise)
slopestar
I would vote for Summit (big surprise) Terry, your vote doesn't count. Although you are there, you never attend:confused:
Terryw
It always seems to fall on one of my working weekends. Very frustrating for me to see all of my friends carving it up while I am stuck with a class ..... I'm only supposed to work every other weekend, but it seems like something always comes up. slopestar
Wish you would. Maybe if we had it at Mountain High, you could actually attend...
carvingchef
I don't think it's happening this Sunday and conditions are not that good (spring conditions in December with low coverage) ASSESS is just an excuse to get together and ride but it's more fun when the conditions are good, we can wait a while or even try to decide which Sunday in the future would be good, Julian and I are not opposed to go to Mountain high, we don't have passes to either Snow Summit or Mountaing High so it doesn't make much difference for us except maybe a shorter drive, but I know some of you have passes at Snow Summit and some of you have passes at Mountain high so you guys can decide (or fight it out) everybody feel free to chime in about which Sunday and which Resort Happy New Year
AcousticBoarder
I am all for Mt High, just because it is closer for me :) I need to try and get off work though....
Gcarve
Personally I prefer Summit to Mt High. There is a lot more space, and more runs to thin out the crowd at Summit. Not to mention I've had way to many collisions and near misses at Mt. High.
AcousticBoarder
I will agree with you 100% for quality, its just the cost and distance that makes me want to frequent Mt High.
carvingchef
I prefer Snow Summit too, but if everybody wants to go to mountain high i don't have a problem with it
MTB_DH11
Hey Slopestar, How has Mt. High been? Still haven't hit the snow. Had another surgery to fix the area where my left eye was. Tell George I said Hello.
slopestar
Have not been for a week so not sure. Coverage was great on Freefall and Headwall so I was happy. Going up with the kids I think on Sunday. I'll let you know. Miss you on the hill! Did you find homes for all your gear. That kessler was nice... MTB_DH11
Hey there, thanks for the quick reply. Glad to hear your last timeup was good. I am sure they arestill snowmaking as cold as it has been. Should be open longer this year at least with these night temps. Sunday should be fun. Wish I could join with my kids. The took a portion of muscle/skin to fix the eye area I lost. Heel side turns would provide some serious pain for sure. Thanks, miss riding with you as well. Almost all of it. I am still trying to get my Race 2 Cure Cancer Foundation completely up and running, but continued medical issue are getting in my way. Yes, I dd not want to part with the Kessler. That was my dream board, but another is enjoying it now. Maybe again someday. I read on another link you are getting a new board made this summer. Congrats. slopestar
Next Saturday is USASA at Mt High. Slalom and Giant Slalom. Anyone want to watch the kids so Dad can race??? I will figure it out I hope. Only weekend I can do is 1/18-1/19 or 2/1-2/2. I prefer Mt High as its just closer and easier. What about SNES??? 3/23-3/24??? Lets ride! MTB_DH11
Lance, are you racing today? Yesterday? If so, I hope you take home the gold! Let me/us know how you do.
slopestar
It was yesterday. Really wanted to but couldn't find someone to watch my kids. I got something better than gold though. My son had a great breakthrough in his riding and I couldn't be happier!
MTB_DH11
Sorry to hear you couldn't race, but yes, the children progressing on their riding is worth it's weight in gold! I want to get my kids on the snow at least twice this season, but summer in January does not look good for an, "into March season!"
slopestar
Assess/SNES anybody? Really like riding in a carving pack! Probably can't make assess if it happens and SNES probably won't since winter decided to skip us here in So Cal. My vote for SNES is March 22/23.
