Looking forward to an early winter to come (I hope). Hope veryone is enjoying their summer. See you on the slopes soon!!!! SunSurfer
It's winter in the Southern Hemisphere, with some NZ fields already open. Thanks to a big storm they're opening with a really good base, mostly over a metre already. Just how keen are you for some snow........... Puddy Tat
... but not filling the void created by the "too short" previous So Cal winter (summer heat in February/Blah)! ... Have you tried LDP? It's a niche part of longboarding. In my opinion it feels a lot like doing cross-under carves on an alpine board, and it's a great distance workout too. Since I got into pumping longboards a couple of years ago I don't get all twitchy in the summer. I think it appeals to me because I can skate miles and miles without ever putting a foot on the ground and it's also got a substantial tweaking, and optimizing component. There's a thread running on this here on BOL (http://www.bomberonline.com/VBulletin/showthread.php?40145-The-Pump-Thread) or you can check out Paved Wave(www.pavedwave.org). Dave As an added bonus my wife actually supports this sport as she says I'm now bearable to be around in July and August.
