Corey
For sale: Donek Proteus 180 with a 19cm waist $600 + shipping from Dugald, MB, R0E0K0. There is a small chance I can ship from North Dakota, 58265 for US-based buyers to cut shipping costs. Depends on timing, contact me for details. This board was the final Proteus prototype that the production boards were based off of. Originally sold here: http://www.bomberonline.com/VBulletin/showthread.php?34613-Donek-Demos-and-Prototype-Blowout (shown on the left in the 2nd picture) Sean informed me this board is the same as the production run boards. The topsheet spec list on the tail states that it's a Freecarve, but it's actually a Proteus - note the point on the nose. I assume Sean used up whatever topsheet he had for the prototypes. Has UPM and 4x4 mounts. Stiffness was good for me at 205 lbs. Would put a 140-lb rider straight into the trees! Condition: Very good. One scratch on the topsheet from the toe-screw in a UPZ boot, otherwise only very light scuffs from handling. Base still has original structure. Specs: model Proteus 180 running length 160 shovel sidecut 130 shovel width 25.3 waist width 19.0 tail width 23.6 Pictures: (Board is symmetrical. Camera was off to one side for these shots, making the tail look asymmetrical.) Kerrc
I'm interested in the snowboard. I live in Moose Jaw. How does it handle at assesippi?
Corey
It needs a bit of speed or a steeper run to turn tighter. It was nice at Asessippi with the steeper runs than most Prairie hills have. I didn't like it all on mellower runs - I'd burn up half the run just building speed! LOL! No big surprise there, it's a 180! It turns quite tight for a long board. It was much more versatile than I expected. If you typically head west to the mountains, this would be a great board. If you spend your days at Mission Ridge*, I wouldn't recommend it. * I think Mission Ridge is the tiny hill I keep hearing the Sask locals complaining about... Oh, are you going to Asessippi again this season? I'm likely going next weekend or the following one.
Kerrc
I am not a fan of mission ridge. I usually go to fernie or hidden valley some times plan on going to Nakiska next year.
