jp1
One of those places I don't think you really appreciate until you look into it. How these people dive right in IS incredible !!
powdahbonz
After watching it on ski porn for years, I had the same appreciation-until you're standing over the lip looking in feeling your butt pucker. It is a humbling experience. One of our buddies who lives in Jackson town every winter said our approach was all wrong-he said that JH regulars approach Corbetts from 50 yards back and huck in advancing past the steepest grade....yeah...it makes sense but......it's still steep! Yeah, man. It's almost impossible to ski down something as steep as that headwall... your chances are much better hucking over it. The landing is nice and steep, so it should be smooth and easy . This run just got added to my bucket list.
Jonny
I last skied it in 1976, on a pair of 210 Rossi ST650 skis. Bent the tip on one of them trying to scrub speed with a hard right turn after the landing. Looking at that I can't even remember what it was like being young, strong or dumb enough to have done it.
