scrutton
I swear I saw this on a recent trip, and I wasn't dreaming. It looked like a snowboard plate, which was elevated about 4" above the snow, and had a short ski going down the middle of it which was on the snow. Anyone seen one of these and know what it is called? From my memory, the rider was wearing soft boots.

Gcarve
I had to laugh when I read this quote from the link above......"Just plan on taking a while to figure out how to use it without kicking the crud out of yourself".

RideGuy
My kid has one of these. It's fun at the cottage. They don't use salt on roads there so they are always snow covered. There is just the right pitch to ride down the road. It's good fun.

It was a really cool feeling. Very much like real surfing because you are not strapped in. You use a leash with it. Stepping off a high speed is a no-no (smash !). Works great for hiking small hills, really, really good for that.
