Randy Kight
Both Fin's Sidewinders and the F2 Race Ti bindings? For those of you that have, I'd appreciate your thoughts on ride differences. Thinking of picking up a pair of the latter to keep on an older board of mine while my new SW's grace my new Kessler. Much thanks.
Guest
Would a video help? i can strap into mine (F2's) and show you how flexy they are for a 150lb-er if that helps at all
Randy Kight
Thanks for the offer NickG, but don't want you to go to the trouble. I was just hoping to hear opinions on ride differences from those that have ridden both. Sincerely appreciate your input.
Mike T
I own a few pairs of each... and have for 1.5 seasons. Similarities: both are more responsive heel/toe than side/side, although the difference is more pronounced in the SWs. Both offer a reasonably forgiving ride. Differences: Weight and height is the big one. SWs are heavy. I avoid using them with my Boiler plate and in powder for that reason, although I do plan to try the new plate-mount kit this season. Will probably never use them in powder again, it just didn't work. Then again, I usually ride softies in powder these days... There is a difference in feel too. The SWs offer a lot of movement strictly in the lateral direction, in the direction that they are engineered to offer movement. With the F2s, the movement is more omni-directional although it varies with direction. If you're a math/science guy, the SWs ar more "discrete" or "digital" in that respect, and the F2s are more "continuous" or "analog". Does that help? Randy Kight
Yes Mike! That's a great comparison. Any durability issues that you've found with the F2?
Sinecure
Any durability issues that you've found with the F2? The fact that you have to ask that about the F2 and not the SW says a lot.
Mike T
I've never experienced any F2 durability issues. I have no doubt the SWs are more durable. In addition to what I said about about feel, my experience is also that the SWs are more powerful, and the F2 are more nimble.
