ExcelsiorTheFathead
I just moved to Silverthorne in August, so I'm a "Nouveau Local." Here's an interesting news article about the summer state of the rental scene here. Frisco is definitely convenient for Copper because there is a direct bus from the Frisco area, but if you are driving Dillon or Silverthorne are just as good. Frisco has the best Main Street and social scene, but you have to pay a bit of a premium to get it. You probably know this already, but the majority of rental ads seem to be in either the Summit Daily or Craigslist. Watching the Summit Daily online is a good idea. The ad for the place I ended up taking showed up online around 4PM one afternoon and I jumped on it. Had I waited for the printed paper, I may have been too late. beckaurora
Leadville has way cheaper rent and is about a 20 minute drive in good weather... There is also a bus ($5/way) from Leadville to Copper. You sacrifice the nightlife scene, but for some it's worth it.
skatha
Another way to look for some digs is to contact local realtors. Houses for sale can also be rented in many cases if they are vacant. I've had realtors tell me a vacant house is harder to sell than one with furniture because prospective buyers often cannot picture their furniture in an empty house...
