quest4powder
In case you missed the webcast of yesterday's giant SSW swell: http://billabongpro.com/tahiti11/heat-analyzer-gb In addition to the archived tow session they're also showing super slo-mo clips of the tow session in between waves on the live webcast. Jim
Insane tow-in sh*t! Blew the boardshorts right of Bruce Irons. Did you checkout the water exiting the reef? That wave can yank your arm out of it's socket. It's amazing how more are not killed there.
Gcarve
Amazing surf vid of some of the most intense waves I've ever seen ridden. It really is a testiment to the incredible skill level of the surfers riding those waves, that nobody was seriously hurt or killed.
Ernie00
I watched parts of the contest and these guys are amazing. It's scary sometimes. I surfed a few times and loved it but but not in my wildest dream I would think about a wave like this, I can only imagine the carnage. Anything with a sand bar is nice and safe for me. I guess it's like carving on ice a lot of people wouldn't even imagine doing it but it has become second nature for most of us. At least us on the Ice coast! Jim
Check out Keala Kennely's face, compliments of Teahupoo on surfline.com! And I thought my face looked bad from my surf accident. Not for weak stomachs

Gcarve
That is without a doubt the most gnarly looking facial wound I've ever seen on anyone still living.
