davekempmeister
Had a bike wreck a few weeks ago and am okay save for lots of road rash. I tried to stay loose but now find my right leg is impossibly tight (hamstring). Seems like everything I try is only temporary relief. Just can't get it to release. Borders on a strain it's so tight, and it's getting on my nerves. Any thoughts. (maybe meds contributed to this?)
Seraph
Considered sports massage? Deep tissue may still be in tension and needs to be released.
davekempmeister
Seraph - I'm definitely down with the benefits of deep tissue massage and thankfully, my wife is adept. Although, it's all relative. I've had a few massages in my life that were deep tissue and one in particular that was exponentially better than the others. At present, I don't know of a good practitioner where I live and am loathe to go through the process of finding one. Hundreds of dollars and several "finger painting" sessions is the norm before finding someone that meets the need. Anyway, I'm in Denver alot - who do you know? Seraph
Bruce Leibbrandt three zero three six four one seven three zero two brucemasseur@yahoo.com I have worked with a lot of masseurs, and this guy is one of two that I would recommend in that you will immediately notice an improvement at the end of the session, he is that good. After I ruptured my achilles tendon, he was recommended by my physical therapist and they developed a recovery plan for me that worked great. Good luck and I hope you heal up soon. davekempmeister
Thanks Seraph. I may actually be in Denver in the next few weeks and, if so, will probably contact Bruce. I will probably find my way to Loveland and/or ABasin as well, of course.
ursle
I'm not saying massage isn't the way to go but first I would go see a DO - Osteopath, I'm thinking you have a pelvis out or a vertebrae crooked to be putting so much stress on the hamstring...best to treat the cause not the symptom. jmho, ymmv
davekempmeister
I hear you Ursle. I have a history of SI joint injury and thought about that as a culprit. The idea that it's a connectivity issue is a distinct possibility. Thanks. Rolfers work in that realm, right ? Maybe I should be in Boulder. Hans
Try ASP therapy. I think you have a trigger point somewhere. It helped me a lot after my two double knee OP's this winter. I even can join the CM2010 next week (http://www.apstherapy.com/index.php?lang=en)
