wingnuts514
My brother just bought a new board and a full wax and tune kit, he detuned his edges and swears the board rides better. Now he thinks i should tune my tanker 200 like his board. Told him i would consult the forum before letting him touch my board. How should we tune it? Do i grind down the contact points and sharpen the rest of the edge? p.s. don't tell me to go to a shop because it's not really an option. thanks
P06781
Depends on your style of riding but if on hardboots then I would say no dont detune . I leave all my tankers sharp!
BlueB
I would leave it sharp. The only department where Tanker is lacking a bit is the edge hold on ice.
wingnuts514
thanks guys, my other question concerns carving in general i guess. With the tanker I can carve hard as hell on my toe side but when i try the same carve on my heel, my edge seems to chatter more, wash out and I end up on my ass. what am i doing wrong? rickythecat
I was having the same issues. I found the following thread very detailed and interesting as it follows the trial process of making the recommended subtle changes. http://www.bomberonline.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=24939&highlight=heelside+chatter
