Sol Vista Night Riding

EDIT: Now posting day and night riding for Sol Vista on this thread

(after randomly seeing nine HB riders on the hill last week)

Sol Vista is open for night riding every Saturday through the end of the season

The cost for a night lift ticket is $10

Open 5-8pm

2 sizes of tubing hills open day and night

Newly renovated bar and restaurant (good food)

Wood burning open fire pit on the porch (day/night)

Not many people ride here day or night... it's like having your own private carve hill

There is basically one run (under the lift line) that you want to ride for carving (others are lit, but not as carve friendly)

It's a very wide run with excellent grooming... 1,000 vertical feet serviced by a high speed quad

There is a terrain park run with the usual jib stuff and a small halfpipe

I plan on being there most Saturday nights but will post to this thread

Come on over yall...

Apparently they were open last Sat and only 40-50 people were on the hill.

I showed up to Sol V on Tuesday/Thursday and much to my surprise found other carvers there.

Keith, Jim and Heather were on my "private" hill just ripping it up!

They were on vacation from North Carolina and somehow found Sol V.

I had the pleasure of riding with them for two days and had a blast.

These guys are the real deal too... sporting original Pure Carve jackets and have carved since the beginning of carve time... true pioneers in our sport.

Over these two days... I also saw

Carla (local racer/instructor), Del (local instructor), Matt (newly converted), and two other random riders who I had never met that just dusted off their gear from the '90s.

In six years, I've never seen another HBer at Sol V unless I dragged them up there myself. I'm not sure what the heck is going on here, but it's for sure cool to see! :biggthump

I talked gear and group rides to all of the above mentioned.
