Allee
Amazing to think that the last weekend of Oct, there was dirt at the gondola bases, and people were still riding their mountain bikes up the hill...

bartron
Amazing to think that the last weekend of Oct, there was dirt at the gondola bases, and people were still riding their mountain bikes up the hill... The only snow there was at the top, say, 10% of the mountain and it was only a sprinkling of snow -- you could see rocks sticking out above the snow when you're standing at the base. This shot was taken on Oct. 31. The white parts on the road are water, not snow or ice. It rained all morning and half the afternoon that day. BlueB
That's coastal BC for you... It can be all water and mud in the matter of few days. Or it can dump 2' overnight... In the season 2006/07 we had tons of snow, except for the period around Cristmas whan total meltdown happened. Then it came back with the vengence and we rode to the end of April. philw
They tell me it's still dumping, it sounds like a good start. But you should look closely at that picture - he's diving down in the snow to make it look deeper. The old tricks are old for a reason.
