Bubba
This was about 1pm yesterday, my front yard. We got another four inches on top op this. Not much I know, but I quit work early and came home. Got the skid loader out, made a nice kicker and a run up to it. Kids got home from school and we spent the evening riding in our backyard. Softies, but it was still fun to be on the board again!

Bubba
Kind of OT and ironical, but I was offered a coaching position at Welch today out of the blue...perks are good so I grabbed it. Maybe I can be the carving "ambassador". :biggthump:biggthump

Bubba
how about carve czar? Carve Czar has a nice ring to it. First order of business will be to get the park off of Lookout.
johnasmo
where is the best snow early season. Afton? I recall Wild Mountain (north of Taylors Falls) was always pretty early to get a run open. Rarely by Halloween, but almost always by Thanksgiving. Rarely by Halloween, but almost always by Thanksgiving. the one and only time i went to Wild was on Oct 25, 2002. they only had one run. it was very narrow, icy, and rocks (oh cool, sparks!). lot of boarders were there. skiers, not so much. hardly worth paying for a lift ticket except to say you were there. reason why i recall that day was because my wife called me on my cell to ask if i had heard that senator paul wellstone was killed in a plane accident. Speedzilla
I recall Wild Mountain (north of Taylors Falls) was always pretty early to get a run open. Rarely by Halloween, but almost always by Thanksgiving. They have the advantage of being down in a valley. They can make snow when others can't due to it being several degrees colder. Sinecure
I think I can see the mountains in the background in that picture. Oh, how I miss the midwest!
