Catek Os2 Bindings In New Condition

Bump for a fellow NB'er!

Steve here from Moncton - haven't been to Poley in quite a while... too bad to hear you're leaving the carving scene!

Cheers

I did alpine boarding for about 8yrs and it was a blast! These bindings are the last piece of snow boarding equipment to go.

But it makes a lot of sense for me to switch from snow boarding to snow kiting. Snow kiting is a good complement to kiteboarding as I can use the same kites, no lift tickets and a fraction of the drive, can use the same boots, clothing. Snow kiting offers some similar thrills so the shift has been relatively easy :) You do need wind but in the winter that's usually not problem. (knock on wood) :)

Off of Catek's website:

The Short Plate is ideal for smaller boot sizes (<10US) and lighter (<180lbs) riders. The 3/8" thickness provides a more forgiving ride than the long plate. The Long Plate accepts all boot sizes (up to 31.5MP, depending on the boot), and its 1/2" thickness provides the most powerful ride on the market. Riders weighing more than 180lbs or with a boot size greater than 10US must use the long plate.

To each their own, companys make these recommendations for a reason. Personaly if I were in your position it would not concern me at all, but that is only 'my' opinion.

I wonder what happen if rider over 180 lbs on shortplate. 185 lbs rider ?my boot is 9.5 fit the short plate perfect but i am over the weight that they recomended. any comment or suggestion.

thank

Size 9.5 will fit according to catek specs. You're 5lbs over the recommended weight. If you were racing for a living it might matter a lot but I bet you could get by with these bindings for regular carving :)
