Favorite cross training

So as the season is winding down what is everyone's favorite cross training that helps with your snowboarding?

I love trail running and long arduous alpine scrambles. The kind that you feel in your legs the next morning. Doing these in the fall keeps me ion great shape when opening day comes. :)

Recently I have tried stand up paddling on a long surfboard. Very fun and great for balance and core.

I used to do a bunch of regular yoga, not the hot stuff. I liked the standing poses because they build strength and stability for boarding.

Mtn biking, good for fitness, looking ahead, getting used to being smooth in rough conditions, and it's fun.

Rock Climbing- good for balance, fine muscle movement, mentally a challenge

+1 on the mtn biking. Picking my way through the rocks REALLY helped me to get more comfortable and fluid in the trees. Pumping the legs while trying to focus on my line was one of the biggest off-season break throughs for me.

There are so many fun ways to condition a body.

Free weights are my main off season exercise. A balanced full body workout from head to toe. I just finished about 15 minutes ago - I feel like I'm gonna puke.

I live in the boonies of north idaho were decent pavement is hard to find. the larger inflated wheels & high board tilt angles looks like the right tool for my immediate enviroment & off pavement use.

I'll setup a slackline this spring, I did it on cable in the park many years ago.

+2. This is from behind my house last night. Noticed for the first time the similarities in "stacking" weight over the edge on a snowboard to stacking over the tire on a MTB. Good stuff!
