  1. Gah, sorry just saw this. Try going slower... like 11-12 (assuming that that's above your foil's stall speed). 20 is really fast.
  2. not to be overly critical, but it looks like you are riding in the propwash and not on the side, where the best wake is? Not surprised there isn't push where you are, but it looks like you are going pretty slow with tons of lift, so there may still be a pocket to be found (haha that board is a monster for a tiny boat wake tho!). How fast are you going? How long is that line? What boat?
  3. What foil are you riding, and what boat? The wake doesn’t need to be very big with the right foil.
  4. foiling behind the boat every weekend in the summer. It's awesome. Gas bill is way better than wakesurfing too because it only takes a tiny wave to foil.
  5. what's the mast length on that one?
  6. Made this one over the weekend after many failed attempts. (Super awkward riding backside too… def need to practice more)
  7. wife and I managed this one over the weekend...
  8. I *really* want to try once / when we get out of boating. For now I'll take the tow.
  9. Im on a wide Coiler BXFR (27 waist) and bomber power plates 3*/3* and angles in the 30s. In hindsight I probably could’ve gotten away with a slightly narrower waist, but I added the power plates later and was sick of booting out on a 25cm waisted board. It’s definitely not the quickest edge to edge.
  10. me looking forward to getting some more of this soon
  11. worth watching? dunno. but it's short so not much of an investment.
  12. Thank you for the insight! what's the fix? shift weight to tail mid-turn?
  13. I'd be lying if I said I knew for sure. My guess would be like 45ish front and 38ish rear? Not as aggressive as my hardboot setup (55/50) but still "forward." Basically I just went to where I have zero overhang. Also running bomber power plates (3*3* mostly lift but a little inward cant too).
  14. not getting straightlined from behind is also a consideration. Sometimes gapers and perfect turns don't play nice together. That's honestly the reason I've strayed from hardboots for so long (fear of the uphill skier taking me out).
  15. 26.5 waist bxfr with softies. I can't make it REALLY rail like hardboots will, but it's a hoot in variable conditions where there are lots of peeps to mix it up with.
  16. I don't like hardboots at all for off piste. softies for me, there. I was surprised at how well my bxfr (softies) did on some day-after-the-storm tracked out leftovers this year vs my capita navigator, which is what I ride on a "fresh" day. But steeps/bumps/trees on hardboots? not for me.
  17. So you are saying I’m just fat? My wife could’ve probably told me that. Yeah snow and groom were pretty good on everything early in the a.m. but south faces (which were bulletproof and then soft). But this trail was mobbed later in the day. Early bird gets the groom for sure.
  18. So yesterday was my first real day on hard boots in about 9 years. I went out last week for a few hours but had some board issues (I think maybe broken? that's a different thread), so came here, scored a new to me board, and went for it yesterday. My heelside is super "meh," and I'm getting what I would call "chatter" on the heel turns... my carve looks a little wavy when looking at it on the lift ride back up. This was my first run of the day... I did start turning a little tighter/more quickly by the end, but I think you can see what I'm talking about on the heelside. All criticisms welcome! The nice thing about taking 9 years off is that I feel like I'm learning all over again, so bad habits aren't nearly as well formed.
  19. As was mentioned upthread a while back, any transactions taken before BK (90 day window for non-insiders) can be unwound by the BK trustee. If the BK gets dismissed, there isn't a BK and that means that all transactions are still subject to being unwound. So personally if it were me I wouldn't spend any money @ bomber till you know that there's actually a BK in place with a trustee appointed. But others might want to roll the dice on getting a good deal now. all of this is purely speculative and the trustee trying to bring goods back into the company is kinda unlikely in a consumer goods context, but you never know. The amount in controversy here is exceedingly small, all things considered.
  20. Awesome! I've gone a bit of a different direction of late. Had bruce make me a softish extrawide bx/softie carver last spring. Got about 4 days on it. I am still quite rusty (after a four year hiatus as a result of following my son's HS wrestling career all winter), but it's a hoot and doesn't require the speed or real estate of my longer stuff. got a set of power plates for this season too!
  21. not talking about making parts -- rather these forums, the stoke shared here, the carving get togethers that are coordinated here, the used marketplace that has flourished here. Like I said I've been away for a while. but back when I was real active (2009-10-11) this place was the glue that held the international community together.
  22. bummer is right. Haven't been active here in a while but still lurk a bit. Without bomberonline.com, the sport would be dead.
