skategoat
I remember when this was *the* place to ski and be seen. I never skied there. I only went to the bar a couple of times and it was hopping. That was back in the 80s. http://www.vancouversun.com/travel/Time+runs+Quebec+landmark/1418536/story.html Did anyone get some last turns in on the weekend? Ernie00
Gray rocks will be very nice to hike and ride next year on powder days.. will be my choice over crowded places like sauveur and tremblant on saturdays ! Still sad to see a local hill close !
Maxlanaudiere
Hike and ride ? hmm sounds like a plan. I'll need snowshoes and a backpack for carrying my boots & board. OR A splitboard
skategoat
I'm guessing the facility will be auctioned off and someone will operate it. Perhaps as a golf resort or tennis. There were a lot of rumours that IntraWest was going to buy it a few years ago. Perhaps they will now that it will be sold for a song. But then again, Fortress is having a ton of money trouble. Too bad about Gray Rocks but in the end, you can blame that swindler, Bernie Madoff. http://www.themetropolitain.ca/articles/view/
BoarderYUL
There are no big chances the resort will run again. They are not even sure they will keep the golf course open over the summer. There was a paper in the local newspapers last weekend that the hotel might be sold and transformed into a 3rd age house. Owner said there are few or no chances somebody re-opens the resort.
