Blue Bird
an unintended (i hope) consequence of "save the children" politics <embed src="http://www.motoxposure.com/tv/video/JWPlayer/player.swf" width="515" height="315" bgcolor="undefined" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="file=http://www.motoxposure.com/tv/video/letthekidsride.flvℑ=http://www.motoxposure.com/tv/video/images/letthekidsride.jpg&skin=http://www.motoxposure.com/tv/video/JWPlayer/dangdang.swf&stretching=fill"/> Why can't people think before they act.... This is just way to stupid to even think that it may be happening.
Hotbeans
Hey ya blueb.. Thanks for alerting us to this complete line of BS. (Of course, my boy's ktm and kx65 have now appreciated in value!) Why not snowboards? or are these up next?
Blue Bird
if the board is sold as a product for someone under the age of 12 and it has lead, it is subject to this. If you want to sell the 65 I spoke with someone who is looking. They found out 1 day to late about the ban.
inkaholic
Blue Bird, This lead ban is hurting a lot more than just the Motorcycle industry. Bicycles with wheels under 26" are considered "toys" so they have to under go the same testing and certification to be lead free or they cannot be sold in the U.S.A. The U.S olympic BMX team rode 20" toys to the podium. My understanding of this is that EVERYTHING must now under go testing and certification to be considered for kids. Grips, tubes, spokes, bearings, tires, fenders, hose clamps. EVERYTHING! If one part doesn't pass certification then the whole bike, motorcycle, toy, whatever is denied certification. The big bike manufacturers are fighting this tooth and nail and it will eliminate the "boutique" builders from being able to make custom bikes for kids. Yep, this one sucks and could potentially hurt many companies. Even snowboard companies could be effected if they produce products for kids. tex1230
That's an easy fix... "Our motorcycles are designed for the fast-growing "little people" market" Midgets need motorcycles, too!
