Glad to see Christelle back. She needs to stick with PGS. And if she does come back to SBX, then she needs to learn on when to pull the throttle back, this girls has a go for broke mentality which has given her problems in SBX. If she figures that out she could be great competition for Lindsay J.

Others news releases from CSF:

http://www.csf.ca/en/about/news/?id=466

Cristelle Doyon is not anymore on the list. This would have been surprising since she didn't enter a PGS/PSL since 2 years and is on the injury list since almost a year. Last news I heard about her, she has retired from any racing, due to too many head concussion...

Dom did get a medal in Torino. Lame that the CSF missed that one.

Doesn't surprise me, your talking about a organization that has a athlete that is probably one the most decorated snowboarder in the world and most of Canada has never heard of him. When Jasey won his 50th world cup medal it was never mentioned on the CSF website. This guy should be more popular than S White. I think if he was American he might have had chance.

doh!

I only looked at the initial PR... The second one (which has the tags) does describe in the NR, Dominique's accomplishments in the Olympics:

"while Dominique Maltais of Petite-Rivière Saint-François, Qué., 2006 Olympic Bronze medalist in snowboardcross, is ready to make her mark once again."

They just missed adding the tag...

I dissagree. The main reason why anyone outside of snowboard racing has heard of Chris Klug is because he was the first organ donar receiver who won an Olympic medal.

The general public does not know who Graham Watanabee is dispite winning the Jeep Overall, being the first American to win an SBX World Cup (he won two before Wescott won his first) and getting a silver in the x-games.

It isn't USSA promoting Shawn White, it's his agents and his sponsors. People like to "Do the Dew" and Mtn. Dew does not do alpine snowboarding.

I hear ya Phil. I guess what I am saying is that if Jasey was American that some aggressive agent would have picked him up along time ago and he would have been on a box of Wheaties by now. Lets face it most of the top sporting events are run by corporate America. And thank god for that because with out them, there would not be a lot of sporting events. ie Xgames and Olympics

I dissagree with that. Olympics were well and sound (I would argue even better of) before they were totally comercialised. With the heavy involvement of the corporate business and the "mafia" running the show, the real spirit of Olympism was gone.

The greatest technical skier of all times, Ingmar Stenmark, wasn't allowed to participate in Sarajevo Winter Olympics (that was the one before Calgary), because he had semi-proffessional status with Elan. After that, slowly but shurely, the soul of sport got sold...
