tex1230
never trust a podiatrist who says "it's a minor procedure" this f&*(&ing hurts! I think I may have ended my season before it began...
AlexJ
What did you have done. I have had a lot of foot problems and have went to the Podiatrist and he mentioned a few minor things?
tex1230
had a "cutaneous horn" removed - basically a f'ed up toenail. thought it was gonna be ok until the anesthetic wore off...and didn't get any happy pills...just advil. edit: DO NOT google that term if you have a weak stomach - Mine was basically a second toenail growing on top of the normal one - not one of the freaky things you see online

For some people 'horn' is right.
AlexJ
That is weird, that sounds very similar to what I have. Mine seems to be the result of an injury about 20 years ago. I have been dealing with it using a dremal tool to grind it off every so often. Maybe I will ask to have it taken care of for real since it is very painful. Dr D
Probably burned the root with acid. Hurts like an SOB for a week or so. Its liveable after that.

Dr. D - no acid, just cut out to the root - about 6mm in - he said they don't use the acid on feet for some reason that I don't remember. Randy T.
That sounds odd, I had my ingrown toenails fixed a couple of month ago and they used the acid to kill the root so they wouldn't grow back. Funnt thing too, I tried to plan it between mountain biking and snowboarding seasons so I wouldn't miss much but there was zero recovery time and zero pain after the anesthesia wore off. skatha
My podiatrist left me with a 8 inch scar up the side of my leg and 2 screws in my tibia.... You got off easy!
