AKBoarder
hey me and a buddy are planning a trio to CO for some spring snowboarding and i was just curious what the conditions are normally like in April? We are thinking of the second to third week in April.... When do the resorts normally close for the season?
big mario
Lovey and the Basin will still be open. Conditions are all over the place at that time of year, ranging from massive spring storms to melt freeze/ boiler plate to nice spring corn to slush. Mornings can be really firm, softening up nicely in the pm. Long and short: expect anything mario

pcABQ
during the 2nd / 3rd week of april last year: (mostly weekend riding, that is) 5 inch powder day whiteout conditions winter conditions 90 minutes of good carving melt freeze as mario said, expect anything i'd bring an all mt board and a carving board and backcountry gear if you are into it Abasin and loveland stay "winter" longer because of the elevation come on down and let us know when let's put it this way: it will be far superior to the 5 days i spent in valdez last spring waiting, and waiting, for the weather to clear . . . pc denver

AKBoarder
Yeah Valdez is really nice.....only as long as mother nature lets it. I usually boarded at Mount Alyeska in Girdwood. I loved it there. As of right now all i have is an all mountain board: Arbor crossbow. I dont mind spring conditions i just dont want to drive all the way from MA and not be able to go. Although the road trip would be nice.
