xy9ine
i'm in calgary over xmas & staying not too far away (near children's hospital). is it worth packing the carving board for some evening turns? i'm concerned it's either too busy and/or short to bother. what say the locals? alberta boy
there are alot of people but you can get a clean run in every time. just watch the wave of people and go between. There is the calgary masters snowboard club on facebook with a bunch of carvers to talk with. maybe sneak out to nakiska for the afternoon ride.i did race training on that little slope. It is what it is.. You can pay by the hour I think. I good down for the monday night session with the alpine guys and have fun.
Allee
It's OK if you're really jonesing for snow, but I'd save my money and drop the local ride board a line when you're here. A day at Nakiska would be a much better use of that carving board, and only costs another $25 - I'm sure someone can give you a ride ... Riceball
Allee is spot on... there is a crew of us out on the groomers almost every weekend at Nakiska. Just drop us a line. There is always room for another knuckle dragger. However, if you have an itch, COP will scratch it for a few hours.
waypastfast
What Allee said! COP is great for a couple hours and you can get alot of runs in, but for the real sweet groomers head out to Nakiska!!

xy9ine
actually, my favorite hill in that neck of the woods is castle. amazing continuous / decently steep fall-line & no lift lines (a concept generally unheard of in these parts). alas, don't have the time for the trek. will play it by ear re: cop.
