big canuck
Anyone tried one of these? Is it indeed titanal? I keep hearing they are softish... Anyone know if you can/is it ill advised to put a Conshox on it? I'd propbably be after the 172. Anyone have one that want to unload it? Thanks. Gleb
Conshox is only made for boards from 2003 and earlier, i think. So its probably not necessary.
RicHard
I had the 2006/2007 model. 168cm, much more soft than my old model (2001). A great board, easy to ride (much easier than the older models). Some pictures of me while doing the stupid riding it! :) http://www.riccardoriccardo.com/Galleria/VARIE/Snowboard%20%28RicHard%29/slides/M_Cervinia03%20069.jpg http://www.riccardoriccardo.com/Galleria/VARIE/Snowboard%20%28RicHard%29/slides/M_Cervinihard02.jpg http://www.riccardoriccardo.com/Galleria/VARIE/Snowboard%20%28RicHard%29/slides/M_Cervinihard03.jpg http://www.riccardoriccardo.com/Galleria/VARIE/Snowboard%20%28RicHard%29/slides/M_Cervinihard04.jpg
Sailman
I bought one 168 before christmas and this board is really good. No skidding on ice, easy to turn, carve at any speed, great flex. Before I was on a old Burton Factory prime and I dont try a lot of board to compare. Here is the board with binding
big canuck
Richard, you can rail that thing! Sailman, where did you get your board, they seem pretty hard to find... Thanks a lot guys. K
bobdea
Kurt, WTF get a kessler or a metal Prior. With all the money you're spending on bargain basement boards that generally are built for a guy half your weight you could have something real nice that is perfect for you. If you were the average rider I'd tell you to get a kessler anyway because it's fairly obvious you have the resources with the amount of boards you buy you could afford it but in particular that you're in the special needs catagory like me you might as well save yourself some time and possibly physical pain and buy something built for your weight. Those Silberfeils are narrow bastards too
big canuck
I'm kind of a mad scientist guy. I want to try them all. I traded my 179 4wd for a mint NOS 168 Silberfeil (I think its a 2004 as I recall) with a new, hardwear included, Conshox and NOS F2 Ti std bindings and a coupe dollars. I figure if it goes sideways I won't lose money. I've actually had decent luck with some narrower boards like my Burners. I have a metal AM on order with Bruce using the specs you had on the one you just sold. (Thanks) I might check back with the guy who was selling the new race stock Kessler here recently... We'll see. Thanks for keeping me in check though bud. Your pal K
Sailman
big canuck, I bought my Silberpfeil at local store here in Montreal. But maybe yyzcanuk have it or maybe bomberonline if you want to paid duties.
big canuck
got any. Which store? have a contact? Is it Titanal? Thanks. K
RicHard
As far as I know, the titanal is into the silberpfeil from 2007/2008 (this year) production. Not before.
Sailman
the store is Sharks 1-450-663-5543, but I bought the last one in december. Maybe you can try performance boardshop 1-450-227-2082 I think they had a 168 this fall in stock. Yes, the board is titanium.
yyzcanuck
As far as I know, the titanal is into the silberpfeil from 2007/2008 (this year) production. Not before. Since at least the 2004-2005 season, Silberpfeils have had Titanal Torsion Control System (TCS). I can't comment on previous seasons because we weren't distributing but I speculate that the stoppage of ConShox coincided with the advent of Titanal to their board construction (around 2003-2004). Please take note of the Titanal arrangement... it's NOT a full metal construction like current race technology.
