Race suit fit

can anyone tell me if I should go a size up to XL? I read somewhere that If you regularly wear large in street clothes you should get a suit in xl.

any thoughts?

Thanks

Depends on the suit, and your build.... I have a SPYDER Comp GS suit... I need to go to an XL due to my height (6'2" 175 lbs), but a Large would be roomy enough for me if I was a few inches shorter....

I got pads on mine. It's allright, and not much of hinderance. Its not that essential, tho its' useful to have a type of "Knee-brace-pad-combination" as well as those shin bang guards.

I just got here home from NM, soI haven't gone thru my race suit. but yeah, it might fit you fine. try it on -BEFORE- you buy.

dont worry wouldnt want you to drool all over your keyboard :biggthump

if ya really crave wearing spandex, try roadbiking.LArge fat men in spandex is nothing less than disturbing.I'd like to race but could never show up donning a race suit looking like Nacho Libre, not with a straight face, anyway.

same with speedos, just don't do it :nono:

I feel the same way. But my reasoning is thus:

If I don't wear the speed suit then I will always think that I could have gone faster and that's why I didn't win. ( Hah!)

With the suit I know that I have no excuses at the end of my run.

Used to do quite a few super G and some downhill. And a suit makes a big difference in speed events. It does feel like you are nekkid and not the good kind.
