Those guys are insane! Negative camber? Negative sidecut? negative AND positive sidecut??? I mean, those are supposed to be skis, not surfboards!!

should be a good powder design:lurk: Have you ever seen a pair of pontoons?

very narrow in the back wide in the front negative camber with a bend upward of 5-10 degrees about 8 inches in front of your toes. crazy looking things but they will really float in the POW:biggthump

You'd be surprised. Reverse camber, reverse sidecut skis are all over the place these days. Mostly as powder tools, but I've seen them on all sorts of days.

I have a pair of Praxis Skis coming in the fall. I can't wait to try them out. They are more like Spatulas than Pontoons, but different from both - and made by a small, local ski builder.

Butter baby!

Yeah, Im thinking of one particular skiis called "Spatula."

As for the edging, its interesting to see how they bend the edges. What I did back then, was utilizing a screwdriver that has gap (i.e. filed in between) in between the edges, as in pronghorn and bend 'em steels. Of course, this is for mass-production in mind.

Surfboards were the inspiration for McConkey in bilding the Spatula. Pontoons and Praxis basically expanded on that idea.

Don't knock it till yo try it...Spats are as fun as a board in 2+ feet of powder

I imagined they were for in pow, but still. They just look like waterskis. They seem really limited and they make alot of models like that.

I wish I had the chance to board in that kind of powder.

I can understand having waterskis (practically) for some pow, but what do the banana shaped skis do for ya?
