Michelle
It's Boston day at Bomber: All ITunes are mandatory Boston music all day! Funny, I know most of the words to the songs.....dating myself. Saw Boston at the "Day of Rock and Roll" that they used to have in New Orleans in the early 80s - Boston, Ozzy, Journey, and Heart. Not bad for $10 in 1981.
Steve Prokopiw
Sad news.Always been a fan with some of my most vivid memories attached to their music.Seems too fitting to read of this while it's dreary, rainy day.
wavechaser
Wow - I hope there will be plenty of "dancin' in the streets of Hyannis" this weekend in his honor. Just another example why we need to be out there gettin' it EVERY day we can, and never "wait 'til next year" or "maybe tomorrow"...RIP BD!! willywhit
I happened to notice Brad Delp RIP painted on a big rock on route 1 in danvers today right next to a notorious mt bike trail next to Naked Fish. Could this have been Bob Jenney's work ? anyone know how his dad is doing ? I kinda miss the guy here.

I went through it with my mom 10 years ago.Literally, the hardest thing I've ever had to deal with. My Deepest Condolences, your dad sounded like a great guy. Looking good in the GSXR saddle up at Loudon.
willywhit
Boston, Boston is one of my "desert island discs". Boston, back on tour "The legendary band BOSTON will headline the outdoor festival at Marina Park on Friday, June 6 in Thunder Bay, Ontario, at one of the Canadian stops of the Great Race 2008. The ‘round-the-globe motor sports event will be making a pit stop in Thunder Bay as a part of its centennial anniversary. The show kicks off a summer of stadium, concert and festival dates that will span the United States and Canada. BOSTON will be bringing two new recruits on tour this year. Singer/songwriter/guitarist Michael Sweet, the veteran Stryper frontman will both sing and trade riffs with Gary and Tom on guitar. Unexpected phenomenon Tommy DeCarlo, the fan that posted his BOSTON covers on his myspace page and ended up on stage, will also be belting out the classics that skyrocketed the band to worldwide fame. Many remember where they were when they first heard “More Than a Feeling” or “Hitch a Ride” on the airwaves back in 1976. BOSTON’s self-titled first album has sold over 17 million copies to date, and was the highest selling debut of all time. It remains a rock classic, and has seen a resurgence in sales after it was remastered by Scholz, along with their second album, “Don’t Look Back,” in 2006. “Amanda,” off 1986’s Third Stage, shot to the top of the charts and held a record-breaking stay at #1, in spite of being the only hit single that year not accompanied by a TV video. With over 30 million albums sold worldwide, hits like “Peace of Mind,” “Smokin’,” and “Rock and Roll Band” are still as ubiquitous on rock and roll radio as they were when they were new. BOSTON will be performing hits from all five studio albums, including many of their classics, and some fan favorites that have not been played live for many years. Check for new biographies on the Musicians' page." And some samples from his myspace: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=150718048 Dicarlo sounds like the Marky Maaark story in the movie Rockstar
KingCrimson
In general, I really don't like it when an older band comes back with a new singer, it just never seems right at all. Journey no longer has Steve Perry, they have some guy from the Philippines.(He's supposedly very talented, but Steve Perry..there's no substitute) Foreigner (who actually had an ex-King Crimson member Ian McDonald, who believe it or not, was from England, hence the name Foreigner) now has chick named Kelly Hansen as their singer. Anyone remember the 'Sabbath album where they stole Ian Gillan from Deep Purple? Sure, it had a lot of talent, but it sounded like crap. Dio sounded great with Black Sabbath, but he's not Ozzy. Staying on the subject of Ronnie James Dio; Rainbow. They were a great band, but as soon as Dio left for Black Sabbath and ultimately his solo career, followed by the band with the moniker Heaven and Hell (basically just the Sababth of 1980 or whenever Heaven and Hell came out), they sort of fell into this silly wanna-be arena rock band with songs like "Street of Dreams" (Sorry, the new singer's name escapes me) Bands build up a reputation based on a personality, and once they lose it, it's game over for the band. Think about the Cure. If Robert Smith left, would it be the same if someone else who wanted to be like Robert Smith was singing "Friday I'm in Love"? Boston is definitely not going to be the same without Brad Delp. Stryper was a cool band, and I'm glad they are making an attempt to carry on with Boston, but I certainly won't be going to any shows. Brad Delp was a fine man, a one of a kind artist, and a good soul. We only know he is with the Lord now. Thanks for letting me make a big expository rock n roll post :)

They played alot at a lil bar called Johhny D's here in Boston/Somerville.
