On the sidewall of a (non-alpine) snowboard in a lift line recently I saw:

"A Day Well Lived"

I thought was a great sentiment. I try to recall this thought anytime I'm on the slopes.

AMEN to the sentiment...

last week I was coming down the South Face of Big Sky, Montana on skis at the end of the day. The sun and scene were truly striking. I just sat down and soaked it up, counting my blessings. Eventually the patrol sweeping the mountain came by and said "you don't have to go home, but you can't stay here". Knowing I had a "Day Well Lived" I made my way home, smiling with every turn.

(referring to it being part of a bench) She absolutely loved that board , however the fact that she pretty much trashed it in about 40 days as an intermediate tells you something. And she's definitely a finesse rider as opposed to a power rider.
