tpalka
Perhaps a good place to keep all the videos referenced? I uploaded mine to youtube: http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=snowytom Fin, let me know if Larry the photographer would like any of this... tom. RDY_2_Carve
Yep it's official...Lisa still makes me look silly! Missed you at Monarch. The snow was nice! Crowded though, but Angel Fire was even more crowded the next day! Oh yeah it took us over 3 hours from Salida to Angel Fire. So much for a couple hour drive.... tpalka
RDY_2_Carve -- we're back in town, let me know next time you head up to Monarch! Not sure that we'll be able to swing south to NM this year... Willy -- Skank is a great band, thought it suited the videos :) Not sure who the guy in the one-piece is, but I think he may be from the Steamboat race team. Didn't get to talk to those guys, but they came up for one day at Highlands. This isn't SES-related, but after most of the carvers went home a few of us enjoyed all the empty slopes! D-Sub
didnt know you were a DnB fan, Tom. Who's the music by in the "flat light at ajaz" vid? I love the jazzy/mellow DnB very much. Ever picked up the Promised Land comps, or "Legally Stoned?" beautiful stuff
tpalka
Ha, I had to look up DnB to know what it means :) The music is by Talvin Singh, from the Anokha Soundz of the Asian Underground -- funky album. I really like Thievery Corp, etc -- will have to look up the albums you recommented -- thanks! tom. PS. Another carving movie, this one shot by Dr. Scott, is now on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVN6j_GXN5I
D-Sub
oh yeah, Talvin Singh. thats from a ways back for sure! There's one song on there...forgot the actual title...starts out with the female vocalist chanting in a "native" tongue then fades into english "rhythm only getting stronger" I used to LOVE that song if you like mellow DnB: LTJ Bukem DJ Trace Promised Land Comps Legally Stoned Comps god...I've forgotten so much! used to be SO in love with that music/scene.
