timinor
I'm trying to ship two boards to Sweden. The total weight of the box is 20lbs. I went to DHL and it was $226.35!!!! They said a business account has a dramatically lower rate but that doesn't help me. Does anyone have any insights into how to ship from Oregon to Sweden for a reasonable amount? bumpyride
Find a friend or store owner and explain to them that they would be able to deduct the cost of the shipping from their profits, and then pay them for it. It's about the only way that you can take advantage of someone's discount on shipping. Usually it's about a third. United States Postal Service has been the cheapest for most of us here. RJ-PS
If they are under the size limits, usps is best. They also have the least chance of charging on duties etc. On the other hand if they are over the 108" max limits you have to go private. I think fedex is the cheapest for non-business accounts, but if you can send them on someone else's account (as already stated) that would be better. D-Sub
Tim I get a pretty substantial discount through FedEx, but I cant guarantee anything. email me with weight and dimensions and the "to" address and I will see.
Galen
I ship to Sweden preety often. They are one of the countries that has a very short maximum length, 60" I think. Here's a link to the size limits: http://pe.usps.gov/text/imm/immicl/immiclss_024.html Dont confuse maximum length with the the length/girth limitations, two different things.
