wvrocks
My local XC shop has 3 pairs of the old Nordica SBH hardboots if anyone is interested. They are size 27 and 27.5. $50.
RDY_2_Carve
Are these the ones the EC folks use?
Derf
Are these the ones the EC folks use? No, they use Northwave 900's - the grey ones (and WC racers use Nortwave 950's - the orange ones).
RDY_2_Carve
Ahh ok. So Nordicas are BC boots? Ski boots?
wvrocks
They are a full vibram soled snowboard hard boot. 3 buckle 1 strap. More like an AT boot than an modern hardboot.
oneawayman
I've been looking for SBH boots for ten years. Do you have any 30.0 or 30.5?
wvrocks
Sorry the SBH's were only 27 and 27.5. He did have a couple pairs of Nordica TR12 AT boots though. One 30 and one 30.5 I think. yellow with red soles. Can't remember the price it was either $75 or $90. He'd probably deal on them.
oneawayman
Thanks wvrocks, I'm unfamiliar with those boots. Are they strictly snowboarding boots or are they something else? REALLY COLD IN NEW ENGLAND TODAY!
wvrocks
They are an Alpine Touring (ski) boot. They are similar to the SBH but have some differences in the sole shape and maybe in the forward lean adjuster.
dano
They were offered by the PureCarve folks with the Maverick 175 and snowpro race binders. Amazingly comfortable and light. Hikable full rubber sole. Best for carving surf style and freeriding. PERFECT for riding a freeride board with plates. BUT, they are a bit cheezy, the liners are crap, the clamps are junky. The stiffness adjustment is a joke. And the don't go far up the leg. They ARE stiff enought to really have at it with, but not like a race boot. I LOVE mine though, the utter bliss comfort is a luxury. Too bad nobody offers a modern comparable product ( that I know of ). It would bring a lot of softies over to the dark (hardboot) side. AND they would all have to buy plate bindings too!
Neil Gendzwill
I dunno - I had a pair of Koflach Damians (Valugga Lights in disguise) which are similar. The liners had tongues which tended to rotate sideways so I had bare shin on plastic. Solved that with some home-made laces. They flexed a little ways pretty soft, but then stopped solid. Also, they were bright pink. My Raichles are much more progressive-flexing, the wrap liners work fine with the lateral forces, and they are a sobre grey/black. I'd have to want to do a lot of hiking before I'd go back to the AT style boot.
modifiede30
Are these boots still available?
