  1. It was on a second chance from German ebay.

Fixed price in Euros - like $275. Great price, for a brand new?!

About the lift questions... I'm kind of used to it ripping it up with my Skwals.

Thanks a lot. I'll probably buy it and hope that I can sell my two Sims Burners lying around.

  2. , the only shipping options are more than $120 just for shipping

    Randy

What, are they chartering a helicopter for the shipping? I just checked postage for a pair of Head Boots I might be shipping to Canada and they were $50 for a 5 kg colli.

  3. Hey carvers!

I just got the chance to buy a brand new Volant Excel. From what I've found in the posts it is a nice board, but some people have had problems with the top-sheet coming off.

Could someone give me the bottom line on them to support my decision?

I'm 72 kilos, normaly rides Sims Burner/Premium and serveral Skwals.

  4. They only have 2005 and they only have small sizes. Plus I'm not sure they have english translation or shipping to USA.

    XXL isn't small is it?

Yes, they are 05, but I only think F2 has one model around with Intec nowadays.

Just use Babelfish for the translation, I don't know German and managed to buy a pair just by mailing them.

  5. Dont want to hijack this thread totally, but there was a major downside on my trip to Sölden, Austria last weekend... I WANT TO BUY ALL THAT GOOD STUFF!

Managed to come home with a pair of brand new Stratus Pro, but I was close to putting myself in bankrupcy when I saw all the brand new shiny Virus boards, F2:s and other sick stuff that I've never even heard of.

To top it all off F2 had a test site on the mountain to put even more salt in my wounded economy... I actually test rode a Silberpfeil so hard that I crashed and cracked the tail.

  6. Hey Carvers!

I just came across a brand new asym F2 Firebird. Does anyone have any experience with this board?

I know that there is a lot of tech-talk about asyms in general (and the demise of them), but I'd just like to know if it's worth a try.

Otherwise the Skwal is my first choice any day, but there's less difference between heelside and toeside with the 0 degree angles on my Skwals.

  7. I received som questions yesterday, so I might as well post that info here too.

-Cirrus is lower level than Stratus.

-It has the same ski-boot-type buckles as Stratus, but made of plastic.

-It does not have a thermoflex liner.

-It has the same kind of walking mode switch as Stratus, but does not require tools to adjust forward lean angle.

    - Same high quality look-and-feel as Stratus.

  8. The Thias Skwals does have the standard 4x4 (I've got the 178 Freeride), but on the Völkl it's not standard at all. I had to drill an extra hole in the Intec TD Skwal disc to make it work, even then it only goes on with three screws and not centered. I could never fit a regular binding onto any of my skwals.

The old Lacroix skwals does not have inserts at all - the bindings are screwed-on ski-style.

  9. I ride the Monocarver Skwal! It's the stiffest smoothest carve ride ever.

The only bad thing about it it that I had to drill an extra hole in the TD Skwal base plate to be able to use the binding - it doesn't have standard 4x4 inserts.

LeeW -> Monoski huh? No WAY!
