  1. you guys ever have someone pull the bar down right in the begining before you even get going on the lift and had one of those foot rest things pin you down? i had a guy once force that foot bar down so hard, it felt like my foot was going to seperate from my leg. (btw, i love those foot rest things just not when my foot is UNDER it)
  2. paul, i'm sending you a set of yellow bumbers tomorrow. just found them
  3. yeah, the only reason I get hit in the head now is BECAUSE I wear a helmet, but thats ok.
  4. seriously, "boarder five four, contact salt lake center on 123.4"
  5. hey Brian: finished your avitar, check your email.
  6. i think neil has a very good point. As a rule of thumb i try to wait at the top of the hill for a break if possible. that way I know I'm clear down hill and all I have to worry about is the up hill guy, who SHOULD be look for you, but of course i always try to make sure there isn't some body bombing down hill while i'm riding. (you would think the guy behind you would see your making traversing turns and plan accordingly but....) If you can clear the hill in this fashion, you get a semi worry free ride, of course this doesn't always work out near the lodge or on very busy days. Didn't somebody make a smock that said "this rider makes wide turns"?
  7. I cant believe some people still think snowboarding is a fad!!! I mean come on and just embrass it for heck sake. to be honest the comment i hate to hear, isn;t from a skier, most of the time you can just laugh those off after one look at their one piece ski suit. the one i hate is, "whooo, bro how do hit jibs with that board?" I usally say "oh not with this board, with my bulldozer." but honestly props to some of those free style guys, they got loads of talent.
  8. saw the movie today. had to drive 1 hour to orlando to see it. overall it was alright. better than i thought, a lot of backcountry boarding and not too much free style. makes me want to open a heliboading company. not a bad life. counted 4 diffrent clips of hardbooters, all less than a second long. Two of which were guys crashing and all off them were "race shots". the way the movie portrayed them was "uptight racers" so.... nothing about carving at all. not that i'm surrprised at all. i guess worth the five bucks i spend on it.
  9. i'm just busten your balls tim. that first time i met you, you had soo many boards. although i think you brought a bunch to show brian. i wish i had your guys quiver. hope to see you in dec in mammoth?
  10. someone mentioned something about bidpay and western union. be very careful when others try to pay you, especially foreiners, becuase these sites are by far the most often spoofed. anytime i sell something on ebay over 1000 dollars i get all kinds of attempts to buy, from africa mainly, saying, "send out the product now and i'll send money via western union." errrr.. wrong!! dont be fooled by this.
  11. i didn't think it was on purpose, its not xxx were talking about here.
  12. I was watching the trailer and it look as if one guy was riding an avalanche. now thats gnarley!! looked about the closed thing to surfing as any one would ever get with a snowboard. "riding a wave of frozen water!!!"
  13. gotta pay the price, if you wanna carve the ice!!

  15. Dave, do you even consiter going to big bear any more? last time i went there i couldn't even make one turn with out having someone else there. limit lift tickets my A$$. i wont go back any more. seems like the drive to mammoth is well worth it these days oh and to the original poster: there are a bunch of guys up at mammoth who have more boards than they know what to do with. sometimes i swear they want to own every board made. seems like tuthill has just about ever burner out there. but i'll talk to my pops and see if i can get you some emails to talk to one of those guys. they are way cool and always down to help out a convert. real good riders too. but nekdut is right you will prob need your own boots.
  16. my dad has some modification of his patagonia pants(mentioned in another thread) hope he doesn;t mind me saying so, hes so proud of his little inovation. but i remember seeing him yanking on the damn thing for like five minutes trying to get it to release. while i just bent over and pulled the thing thru my pants and was done with it. his thing seemed to make it harder to get out of, and i think it broke too at one point. but not a bad idea i guess for you old guys. sometimes though i think simple=better.
  17. if you know a good tailor, its not hard to make some intech pants. i have seen some patagonia pants with intech pulls which go all the way up to the top, and hidden into a velcro flap.
  18. ill wait to see it before i pass judgment.
