  1. So my question is, what is the "Monster" that Bruce has been talking about?

The monsters are the big boys of the carving world. From the man himself:

"I have been doing quite a few of the "Monsters" this was originally inspired by a customers design and after testing I immediately built a 188 x 23 x 15/16m for myself and it was one of my favorite rides last season. They are actually quite soft but can be ridden pretty hard in varied snow. They use the race board decamber to give a great feel of control despite the length.

Early season I will be developing a full line which will be:

182, 185 and 188 all available in 20, 21.5 or 23 wide. Sidecuts will be 14.2/15m or the already tested 15/16m

    Even did a 188 x 24 for a guy!"

  2. Doesn't that put a lot of stress on the mounting screws/inserts while riding?

The center disc is mounted on the board. Since it is flat on the board it does not move once mounted so there is no lateral stress on the bolts. The cant merely floats around the center disc.

  3. Hi,

I have a set of TD2 step-in for sale. Excellent condition, 3* and 6* cants with medium elastomers. I can exchange these for hard red if you want.

Looking for $225 shipped to the lower 48.

    Thanks,

  4. Yep, it just depends on the season. Right now I have 27s available....so it really just depends on the demand.

I'm sorry I didn't mean to insuate that anyone should wait. I'm all for getting them while they're hot.

  5. I was just thinking about how much better/more comfortable it would be with thermoflex liners now that my ankle is gonna be odd shaped.

Yes, that ankle will be swollen for a LONG time. Mine still swells to this day. I don't think that that will ever go away.

  6. hey who has metal in their ankles???? do you use Thermal Flex liners?

I have a Ti plate and seven screws in my right fibula and I use Thermoflex liners with great success. I started snowboarding about 2 months after I broke my ankle and there was no real issue with rubbing like I thought there would be. It's now two seasons later and still no issues. Go for it.

  7. I do believe if a person is handy with a phillips screwdriver, you can make a left intec heel a right intec heel and vise versa. Not trying to be a smart-ass. All you'd have to do is, with the heel removed from the boot, remove the cover with the screws and then route the cable to the other side.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that's all a person would have to do! Think Snow!

Actually, Jeff. There are only two parts that are different on the heels that make them left or right and unfortunately the interior is where they are You can make a left a right but you need a broken right one so that you can take out the innards. Otherwise the cable will be pulling the mechanism the wrong way. I can post some pics at some point if you or anyone else is interested. Maybe if I find some time I can write up a heel FAQ.

I save my broken heels just for this so that I can make lefts, rights and rights lefts. The thing I usually break is the little wing on the front of the heel. Usually, everything else is fine on the heels so I save them.

  8. I have a Coiler AM 169 in great condition. I have only ridden it about 5 times. Just seem to find that I use my other Coilers more. It has a full PTC tune.

There is only 1 tiny nick in the topsheet behind rear binding. You can see this in the pics here: http://picasaweb.google.com/bschurma/CoilerAM

The board was built for me at 190 lbs.

    Specs:

    169AM

    9.9m SCR

    20.0cm waist

The information on the sidewall is: 169AM20 06BS1-7.9

    I am looking for $350 + shipping.

If you are interested, please let me know.

  9. emailed.

threw a list of random offers out there!

    For anyone else:

    trade KEH.com "EX" condition 62mm Nikon filters for a 50mm 1.4 or 1.8

Would consider other primes of similar quality. Zooms too- but the sharper ones of those get pricey!

    filters are

    Pol 1

    Soft 1

    L1BC (sky)

Edit: bschurman, my email bounced back. email me?

can you please send that again? My email server has not been working for the last couple of days and I think it got chucked while the internet waited for my server to come back online.

    Thanks,

    ->Ben

  12. Use grease and not loctite! Grease the heads and the threads of the bolts. A little goes a long way. This will allow you to properly torque the bolts. Otherwise you are getting a false torque on the friction between the bolt and the center disk. Use a non petro grease like Bomber Butter, Pedro's SYN grease or Slick Honey.

Do not use loctite, it will destroy your board.

  13. i have a custom coiler pure race with around 20 days on it that im selling. it has a ptc tune from the begining of the year and its only been filed by diamond stones since then. so it has at least 95-98% of edge life left. i got the board in jan of 07. it has a couple little scratches on the topsheet, but the board is a 9.5 out of 10. its bright yellow. i can post pictures this weekend.

    specs:

    180cm/13.7 scr/20cm waist/4mm tail taper/6.9 stiffness.

the weight on this board is hard to say i would say an aggressive 190-220lbs. i weighed 215lb's when it was built, but ive beed riding it at 195lb's this winter and it still works really well. when bv built it i wanted it a little bit softer than i usually get but still strong torsionally. its a great board and would love to keep it, but thanks to bschurman ive ended up with a 185nsr. sweet topsheet ben!

    $450.00 plus shipping

The NSR is a sweet board. I loved it when the conditions were right. I'm just not a big enough boy to bend it in the hard stuff. Bruce is going to soften the nose for me like the one I tested at the ECES.

I can attest to your 180 RCII. I have the same board and it is a great go to board. You can crank the turns tight if you want but you can also let it run fast and make big turns too. Always stable. Someone should pick this up, it's a quiver in one board.
