Is it 1 deg bottom and 2 deg side? Or is it 0 deg bottom 0 deg side? Is it different for freecarve boards versus the Inclines?

For waxing near the edges, particularly on abrasive (very cold or manmade) snow, you can use a harder wax to address the wax getting worn more quickly. This also helps prevent base burn...

that sounds like a good idea.
I can notice the difference after a good wax, especially on the flats. Edges seem far more important though.

I probably wont be there, but if I am I'll keep an eye out for you
-
If so, anyone in particular? (So far ive had 2 days on plates).
-
I'll be In a red helmet, black jacket, gray pants, and probably falling down alot.
My radio well be set at 5-12. Say hi!

I do need to force myself to be more square on the heelside turns. Also, I think I need to shift more weight to the rear of the board. I consciously try to avoid bending at the waist, counter rotation, and "straight legging," but It occasoinally happens. I do try to arch my back towards the inside of the turn (outside elbow up).
I think the tip regarding pointing your rear knee and hip towards the heelside edge will really be helpful (and so are all these other comments). I have trouble maintaining that turned position 100% of of the time. Im working on it.
I do find it much easier when I focus on the direction of the turn rather than down the hill (im prone to this mistake).
In about a week I will have taken some more runs and probably have a video, and I will let you all know the prognosis.

I was thinking of changing my lift angles to 6 front and 3 rear (i just use lift, no cant....i was previously riding 6 6). Seems that everyone has more lift/cant in the rear than the front, however, I think ill try the 6 front 3 rear. These other comments are helpful as well! Thanks.

On the news stand now! Check it out! Great article about Sims, Barfoot, Burton. The early days. The pics are great.
I bought this a few weeks ago. Great Pics. A bit pricey though (somethign like 12 dollars.)

This season ive been to stratton, okemo, hunter, and mtn creek (sigh) and ive seen riders on plates every time. When I was at Stratton i saw about 8 riders (damn).

I didnt realize, although it occurred to me, that ptex should be used so sparingly. Good thing I asked this before I ptexed every nook and cranny.

Im new to alpine, but ive managed to hold my own the few times ive been out. I notice that Its harder for me to hook up the heel side edge properly. I try to minimize counter rotation as much as I can. It seems that the rear part of the heelside edge by my back leg is more prone to slipping. It doesnt seem like im bending at the waist, although I should look for that next time I board. Is there anything fundamental I should keep in mind?
BTW ive been running 60 front 55 back, because I have large boots and therefore no choice.
-
I have TD2s, and I moved my toe bails back, and my heel bails back to get less toe overhang. I suspect that the middle of my boot is behind the middle of the baseplate. Is this ok? How would i find the middle or COG of my boot?
-
There are 4 holes in the front, 5 holes in the back. Which holes should I use to be centered?
-
I bought the axis 182. It arrived today. Bill got back to me, although there were one or two lapses of a few days. The board's condition is not great, but still good for riding. I was informed of the damage, but without pics.

I had a similar problem, and then I started practicing using that over rotated technique seen in the EC videos and it helped alittle

Wasatch Front/SLC area is where it is at. Although we do have two resorts that frown on snowboarding (Alta and Deer Valley). You still have Park City, Brighton, Solitude, Snowbird, Canyons, and Sundance all within about an hour or less from SLC.
mmmmmmmmm....SLC

i agree with the gist of this thread...i'm new and even to me it seems
BOL is growing...and I seem to see more and more hardbooters on the mountain :D

what do you guys do with the smaller scratches? just wax and wait for a base grind down the road?
-
When I ptex scratches, by dripping the candle and then scraping, I can still feel the depression of the scratch.
All suggestions/commentary on ptexing are appreciated.
-
Ive heard that some prior bases did not arrive adequately flat...in other words, a professional would have to level the base.

As far as scrubbing speed - good aggressive edge sets, and using the tops and sides of the bumps usually works for me. I had an epiphany on skis a few years ago when an instructor said that if you're getting out of control, turn down the fall line not across it. Counter-intuitive but it works.
same thing happend to me. helpful advice.

the videos arent working anymore!!!!

LOL at the high-tech THERMALS!
eventually you get "comfortable"...learn to utilize economy of motion, dont think _too_ much...and it all starts to feel good again
The end of my day at hunter today left me in this state. Im back in the swing of things after 4 days of mediocrity.

the topsheets are still somewhat prone to scratching...even the new ones
What bevels do Doneks come with from the factory?

That was me. Thanks for the tips...good riding with you as well. It was an awesome week at Stratton.
I was a little surprised when someone at the Startingate told me that Doneks come tuned 2/1. I suspected that that information was incorrect and that I better be absolutely sure before i start sharpening the edges with my file guide. Good thing i waited, now i have to have my board tuned.
Here is a pic from that week at Stratton (hope this works, 5th day on plates):
