Bordy has done them on plates.
This i need to see a video of

I find it much easier to finnagle my way out of a bad situation in soft boots....not to mention that i can carve pretty damn well on my donek sasquatch 170. But I cant beat the stability of a long board capable of a locked in turn on hardboots for wide open carving.

depends on the dr.'s prognosis

you can see what looks like a hole in the pics

Well, Jack is the author of the alpine entry in Wikipedia. Nothing wrong with self-promotion.

it was a joke...

Jack's form is so good that when you look up alpine in the encyclopedia, you see his picture:

I would go with the taller palmer plates. The burtons are too low. I run the palmers on my donek incline and they work well to a degree. Another solution would be to buy a donek sasquatch...great for carving and you can spin 180s too lol.
BTW if you want burton lifters i have a set i can sell you for less than new. (never used)

Seems to me it's the same old formula, take something that requires precision, athletic ability, skill and throw in people crashing and suddenly it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. I like the format of the Jeep King of the Hill series and seeing those guys on hardboots jump those gaps, carve those corners as well as handle those nasty rollers is impressive to me, but I guess you gotta have some carnage for the non-educated so they'll want to watch this stuff or else it won't sell. I'm not bashing SBX, those guys are talented, watched it all day on Winter X today, but I would have been more excited to see the JKH format and watch hardbooters go at it. JMHO....
Have fun,
Paul
I concur. I could do without the crashing and bumping. Although I do some crashing and bumping on the hill myself....albeit unintentionally.

BOL user surfinsmiley has a picture of one in his avatar...he probably knows about this stuff!
-
watching that pgs...which i understand will be in the olympics...those guys go flying on what i presume are race decks with hardboots
-
I would like to see the pics too. Would this hold up for me (220lb)?
-
im no pro...but i would say compress between turns and push out more at the apexes...to do something more like a cross through than just a cross over.
