  1. I emailed you already but want to know the specs of the board. Thanks:biggthump
  2. I am up Wednesday morning and then to Tampa for the rest of the week. let me know how the conditions are today
  3. I have Raichle hard boots with intec and TD-1's. Is the Neidecker something I could handle? I can ride rail to rail on easy slopes and then have a tough time holding a line on the steeps wit5h my Prior. How much are you asking?
  4. Was up today at Blue and it ranged from "see your reflection" ice to mashed. Razor was closed as a cat died on the first headwall and they don't know how to move it. Generally really crummy grooming if at all. Going tomorrow 3/9 and then next week if it holds. Getting thin....
  5. Had a great time with you guys at BLUE and I got some really good advice to ramp up my riding. Greg did a great job of organizing and we should do it once a month if possible. Anybody that has an old board for sale, let me know as I need to get something a litle stiffer than my Prior 4WD 169. If looking to skydive this summer, I can get you hooked up. woo hoo diveburt@aol.com Dave
  6. Looking for the next step up from my Prior 4WD 169 which is good but too soft for steeper faster carves. Cheap and dinged up is OK as I need to try stuff before i get one customed.
  7. Actually, it is supposed to be only cloudy now. See ya there:cool:
  8. Not to rain (literally) on the parade but it is supposed to be freezing rain on the 6th. I may be there but not in the mood or health to get soaked.
  9. DO NOT GO TO Brighton as they have cattracks cut across trails you want to ride!!! I wa just there and took a lesson from a guy who was not much better than me and he told me to go down this trail so i could watch him come towards me. Came over as lip and they had a cattrack cut directly across the trail. I was in a toe-side doing mach2 and had a moment to realize it wasn't going to go well. Dropped at least three feet to the other side of the trail and crashed and burned trying to suck it up. Wouind up with two cracked ribs on the right sde, bruised and torn cartilage of my ribs on the left side, severely sprained wrist, and almost a concussion. The instructor said it was his fault and knew the f------ thing was there. The mountain knew they had a problem but didn't even deal with it. Solitude is wherre you want to go as they have some good groomers and are wide open. Bird is good but will be a challenge to get to terraign you can handle.
  10. Blue Mtn opens Friday with the usual one way down of vista, come around and lower Main. If anybody is interested
  11. It all depends on what kind of cum you want. Play now or get a better job and play a lot later. Anyway, good luck in your studies. I remember those days well......
  12. Yeah, even the river felt colder waterskiing last week. It's time...
  13. Anybody out there....................?
  14. Mine are shot. Any idea where to obtain?
  15. The removable pads on my boots are disintegrating and I need some new ones. Any idea where to obtain or does someone have some laying around?
  16. Had sort of the same thing happen recently at Blu but with a much smaller woman who was absolutely clueless abour hardbooters. Had my rock garden armor on and she didn't hurt me at all. She waqs a little dazed but OK. Sorry to miss you guys lately but have been out of town a lot teaching the CAD/CAM program. Going up on this Mon and Wed but early to avoid all the freakin idiots. That 6-pack didn't help mountain traffic at all!
  17. Jack, Got into it last year and have a Neidecker fusion as well as a Prior 4WD. Doing OK but find myself, at times, being too far forward and pressuring my left foot ( ride regular) too much leading to a skid rather than a carve. Stance width is about 18 inches and I'm not sure if thats for me. If I focus on bending my rear leg forward to try and tuck it in behind the front one, carves do much better. Problem is, i feel like I am leaning back and it is a hard position to keep so I stay centered on the edge. I do the drills for angulation and hand position but I just can't seem to get the real steep edge angles I see others get. Maybe binding position? Or is just time in the saddle?
  18. Anybody out on either Wednesdays or Mondays? I usually go up by 10:00 to avoid the crowd and ride until early afternoon. Haven't seen many carvers but need some input to get better.
  19. In skiing, when ones sticks his butt out, it means you are bent at the waist. I am a new carver but it applies here. Kasey is fairly upright at the waist but has "blocked" (an old term used by ski instructors) his hips to better resist the centrifigal forces placed on him by the turn. He then can continue the turn and be stronger in finishing. When tired, one will try to compensate by bending forward more. I feel your pain...I get a couple of OK turns and then disaster strikes.
  20. I thought it was gone. Look , I'll buy it just to get the thread closed out. Do you take paypal? Send details and it is sold.
  21. I do well on easy terrain and make some nice turns but do not get it over enough to where I get any snow on my gloves. I understand that it is a function of my angulation but can't seem to find the balance point at a high edge angle if that makes sense as to what I'm feeling. More speed and terrain and I am out of comfort zone and starting to tense up. Funny, but I like it better when my boots are not locked(Raichle 324) and I can flex more and try to tuck my rear leg in behind the front to help with the angulation. I weigh 160 so maybe this is Proton is too much of an SCR(actually too little) for me. Also, our groomers are kinda narrow and I find myself running out of real estate as it is. Don't want to be picking tree bark from between my teeth. As a dentist that wouldn't be good
  22. Forgot...I need a large.
  23. Jack, I got to have one!! Hook me up and you're paid ASAP. thanks. Dave
