  4. ...you were moving to Marysville/yuba city CA? I think Donner Ski Ranch is the closest. I'm finally leaving Arizona after too many years here and can't wait to start carving again. Your advice is appreciated, and thanks! Robert
  5. Greets folks. Gotta ditch some gear. Mistral Sonic 167. Used but plenty of life left in it. I'll include a pair of older burton bindings, would make a great rock board. I'll add pictures as soon as I can figure out how, I don't post on this board much. I'll take the best offer by the end of the weekend for these. Robert 480-206-4312 robertweston at cox dot net
  6. Unfortunately, I wound up riding Eldora for a few days instead of WP. It was extremely fun, but.....yeah. That place kinda sucks. I hope to make my way back to CO soon. Would love to ride with some folks, I'm sick of solo riding ventures.........
  7. I'm flying in from AZ on Sunday, but won't be able to ride that day. I'll be up Mon/Tues/Wed though. My first trip to CO, can't wait!
  8. The Aussie Pink Floyd show looks great, I need to catch that. I saw Gilmour a couple months back, seeing DSOTM was fantastic. Going to Chicago over NYE for Umphrey's Mcgee. This makes me happy :)
  9. That was Seans estimate of what Fedex would pay for shipping & repair. I honestly figured I would have the option of returning the board and receiving a new one without any problem
  10. Sean actually said my call was the 2nd he received today regarding a damaged board from Fedex
  11. Here is another photo that shows the topsheet damage better. I'd like to just get back to having a perfectly new board for $600. Thoughts?
  12. Yeah, it's pretty minor....you know how it is when you pay full retail, you want perfection. I've never done any repair on a topsheet, just filling scratched bases. If you look at the ding from the other side of the board, you can see the topsheet lifted up from the surface. Any advice on the best way to go about fixing this myself? Thanks, Robert
  13. I have been so eager for the arrival of this board, and unfortunately it arrived today with the outer packaging all torn up: It appeared like if there were going to be any damage, it would be scratches on the topsheet. There were a couple minor scratches :( , but there was also this dinger on the edge: Doesn't look so bad, but it is obvious that the damage done will only get worse as the topsheet peels away over time. I have to decide how I would like to use my Fed Ex claim.....for shipping/repair of the board, or to keep it ($150). I'm sure many of you have gone through this before, your thoughts? Thanks, Robert
  14. Arizona Snowbowl has not recieved 1 flake this year. This is a place that got over 400 inches last year. Good excuse for me to charge over to Mammoth
  15. Happiest of birthdays to ya, Dave. I'll be in your part of town over christmas, I'll buy you a beer, we'll catch up. Email you number to me. Maybe we can ride for a day at summit on my way out?? Bob
  16. Thanks, appreciate that piece of advice. A lot is going on already, movin' is a bitch and I would have overlooked that.
  17. Woke up and smelled the first hints of Autumn today  Made the decision right at that moment to move back to Bend. I'll be there just after Halloween. Am I exicited? F'n right I am! Dave, you still there? Need help with finding the right neighborhood to buy in. And, need help with building a quiver!! robert
  18. I must have one of these in my backyard. Powerball drawing tonight.....280 million. That'll cover it.
  19. You can't miss Kennedy School in NE. Too many things there to list, just check it out for sure. Also, if you're into sushi, Yoko's is always a treat. They are in SE on Gladstone (same yoko's as bend, only this is where yoko works). What's the name of that place under the hawthorne bridge? Anyone? Excellent late night grub. Makes me want to go back to pdx! Robert
  20. Any place really close to PSU is going to be pretty pricy. You can try looking at Johns Landing, it's right on the river and seems to always have some decent accomodations in a good area, well priced. Close in Southeast is good too, but the traffic over the bridges can be terrible. If you take Barbur Blvd out to the 10, there's some inexpensive stuff there, wouldn't take but 5 to 10 minutes to get to PSU. Good luck! Robert
  21. Not sure if it is still around, but when I lived in Portland there was a beer called hair of the dog, about 17% alcohol I believe. Not bad either, but no more than 1 or the taste gets annoying. My favorites? In this order: 1. Deschutes 2. Full Sail 3. Bridgeport 4. McMenamins 5. Anchor Steam 6. Sierra Nevada 7. Newcastle 8. Widmer Hefeweizen 9. MacTarnahans 10. Miller High Life (when you only have chump change) .......Since we're talking about liquor, and it's getting warm out, here's my recipe for a PERFECT margarita: 2 shots Patron Silver 1 shot Grand Marnier 3/4 shot Triple Sec 4.5 ounces Margarita Mix (get the good stuff....makes a difference) 1/2 of a lime Fill a shaker full of ice, ad above contents, shake violently, salt your glass, pour and enjoy!
  22. I'm drawn to the more cult-like stuff.... Down By Law Dead Man Cannibal the Musical Repo Man Blue Velvet
  23. figures, it's great everywhere except where I made reservations 2 months ago. Big Bear & AZ Snowbowl have better conditions. Looks like I'll spend my days drinking bloody mary's, playing scrabble, shooting pool, and praying for cold weather :p
  24. May not survive. Forecast calls for more rain on Mt Bachelor, then clear, cold temps. Will most likely go from sloppy wet slush to bulletproof sheets of ice. I actually had epic corduroy and fluffy bowls in mind....no, I had that planned. Can anyone do anything about this please?
  25. That reminds me.....I've been looking for an issue of snowboarding magazine from, oh, probably about 1989-90 or so that has a ton of riders from Bend in it. Has Tom Ruth on the cover, and a bunch of other bend riders at the time. A dude named Sean Dillard is in the centerfold, a very good friend of mine, as well as Chris Klug. If anyone has an extensive collection of old snowboarding mags, drop me a line.
