Hi, First of all I want to say: I don't think, there is ANY UP or DOWN in snowboarding styles. There may be a "I prefer" or "doesn't feel good to me", but no good or bad. And yes, I think there is some in group / out group dynamics in carving, especially in this thread. And I think we should rather fight this than manifest it :rolleyes: Because on both sides of the Atlantic (and the Pacific too ;)) there are great riders and really nice guys. And for sure it's a lot of fun meeting them and sharing the slopes. And I don't think there is that much difference between the styles... and there can't be. Because no one of us is totally in one style, even if you could separate it in this way. I think everyone is only in his own style, influenced by others, but totally individual. I've been riding for some years now, trying different board types and different styles. And most of them have their advantages and disadvantages. And all of them share the same Physics. Even more: IMHO There is no necessary depending of riding style and board. There is no problem riding J & P's rotation style with a narrow board, and also not really a problem with any other style on a wider board. Many really good guys did for many years at the beginning of alpine snowboarding. So why finding differences and not finding things in common?! only my humble opinion.

Just wanted to mention the most common nationalties in the EC-forum. Of course there are others, too ;)

Hi Randy, this rack is only for the boards I want to have beside my bed. These are the boards, I usually use more than once a saison. The others have to stay in the cellar. And don't you forget, I'm European, so most people think, I'm crazy, having tree boards in my bedroom. I usually don't tell them, that there are some others... The rack is about 2 meters (79 inches), The bar parameters are 30 X 20 cm (12 X 8 inches) BTW: I think, it's totally normal, that girlfriends don't like our SB-Racks in bedrooms. I'm totally happy with her, so she'll have to bear it ;)

Well, it's not really a wall rack, but it's at the wall and - well - it's a rack ;). I built it up with a chainsaw and I like it. I guess, my girlfried doesn't *LOL*

Hi Bernhard, you should make sure to visit the pogo-HP. Their story about the beginnings and their brand and alpine snowboarding in general IMHO is a must for your site!

Thanks for your welcome! Of course I'm alpine, never ever used softboots and I'm proud of it! ;) ;). If your question about what's hot is about Hardboot-gear: Of course Virus is very hot, I love my WCR70 (170 length, 18.5 width), they will offer something wider (23cm) for this season. Anything alse is kind of disppearing :(... And of cours freestyle-stuff is same style as in the US.

Hi to all, I'm new in here, but want to write something, too ;) My oldest SB-Gear is a Crazy Banana from about '87 with the binings it came with. It's one of many Brazy Bs built in these years with that crazy yellow and pink colours. I must admit, that I use it only once a saison in the powder just because it's a board that's so old-fashioned ;) It's a strang feeling because of huge board-width and lot of setback combined with that big nose... but it work wll in the powder ;) I did not sell it yet, because I won't get any money for it. And so I keep it for remembering the good old times.
