You think so? I ran what I would expect to make in a tax nightmare of a city, San Francisco, CA.
I come out really far ahead compared to living in Ontario. Adjusted for USD/CAD and stuff. I don't use government assisted programs in pretty much anything. Maybe I will when I'm 65.
Your personal income is likely better in the US if you have a good job as a professional. If you have the means you will get better healthcare as an individual. But Shortcut wasn’t talking about your individual situation. The USA spends nearly twice as much as Canada per capita on healthcare with worse overall results as measured by gross metrics like life expectancy and infant mortality. And Canada’s system sucks compared to other countries who are doing it better.
So there’s not much motivation in the US for change when the people in charge aren’t experiencing any problem.

Yeah, I'm usually all for the downhill guy having right of way but this guy is a douche.

Ow. Hope it all gets fixed up and you’re back to ripping soon.

“What is that?” - a snowboard
”How does it work?” - gravity
”Why are you wearing ski boots?” - why are you wearing oversized sneakers?
“Nice mono ski” - thanks, I like your wakeboard.
Got a really funny one today after clipping in at the top of the lift: “Wow, those look easy to use! Are those step ons?”… mind you, I’m not even on intec heels, just bails.
“Is it fun?” No, my mom makes me do it.

First twin tip was the Sims Kidwell I think.
In skating terms, fakie is riding backwards whereas switch is riding your opposite stance. As far as I understand it. So if you’re rolling backwards and do an ollie with your feet in your normal position it would be a fakie ollie but a switch nolly. It’s a subtle difference and not sure how it applies to snowboarding.- 1

What size are those screws?

Good point - heck no!
But there is a common thought that stainless steel is stronger than even a grade 5 bolt - it's not!
So get stainless if you can in this situation, there's effectively no penalty for the corrosion resistance.

FYI, a Grade 5 or Grade 8 bolt is stronger than stainless, but they corrode if water gets on them.
Do you think there's enough force generated to trouble a 5/16" stainless bolt?

Is that one of those old foam core Rossis? Time to mount it on the wall and get something more modern.

Unless she's just lying that doesn't sound good for the other guy.
Wouldn't put it past her. She lies for a living, both as an actress and hawking snake oil on her goop website.

The answer to this question as with all real-world physics is that it's complicated.

I’m going to go with an Intuition SBC wrap liner (I tried their regular Pro liner but it is too short). That will also get me a little more volume over the ankle and hopefully lock it in better.
Did you end up getting those liners? If so how did they work for you?
The one guy I know who runs the original Northwave boots uses Zipfit liners and swears by those.
Seems like a lot of money to pay to get shitty liners. The original ones in the .951 I mean.

Icebiker yes speed is a factor as well as turn radius. The tighter you turn at a given speed the more your body needs to lean. Therefore you need more speed to get low with longer sidecuts but even with short sidecuts you need a certain amount of speed.
You get a tight turn with early edge pressure. As I said before I am not the best at getting low but I find I get the lowest when I seriously commit to that edge early. That means that the start of the turn begins when I am traversing across the hill just after the previous turn, and I huck my body over the top and onto the downhill edge. At this point I am traversing on the downhill edge as it hooks up. If you do it right you will whip around tighter and lower than you might think possible. But it requires commitment and faith that the edge will hold, especially going toe to heel. That one is a blind huck over your shoulder.

Hardboot carving is dying and has been for years. I think the current popularity of softboot carving is not going to create any great movement towards hardboots. Rather, the opposite. As the soft gear gets better fewer people will find a reason to seek out hard gear.

I've also got wide feet and running Deeluxe shells. Mine are punched out but another thing I did to help was to wrap my forefoot in 1/8" thick foam tape when molding the liners.

I have always enjoyed Aspen, its 350 days of sun (no so this year) and its amazing snow management made it a perennial favorite.

Frankly any good east coast groomer worth his salt could make Aspen snow amazing. It practically snows every 3rd day. But still its super awful
These statements seem incompatible. Does it snow every third day, or does it get lots of sun?

If you fly to Kelowna you can spend some time at Big White which is a fantastic hill.
-
The drive from Kelowna is much shorter (200 km vs 400).

Wow! Very nice. That video does not show the steepness you describe. It seems that’s one thing that doesn’t come through well.

I stand by what I said. Carving ruts in the park is not cool.
-
Don't be a Jerry, stay out of the park. They build it for a specific purpose and carving is not it. You've got a whole mountain to ride, why would you want to be there anyway?

I think you're looking very good for only 2nd season! I will let the soft boot experts provide detailed advice.

I’ve never used bts so I don’t know what I’m missing. Drink and drive levers set to 3 front and back.
