  1. Thanks for the kind word Dave. Tara has been with our program for eight years now. she works hard to get the $$ to get he rbutt ot these races, and trains equally as hard.

She told me she had met a coach from telluride that was really cool- thanks for helping her out. I know it can be intimidating when you are at the big races as a rookie.

    I appreciate your help!

I'll send your hello's along to tara today at practice.

  2. Seb-

This website just saved a racer I have at the RTTC.

The finish line announcer said she was in 16th place, so she took off her bib and went to the top to get her stuff.... (instead of waiting for official second run start list)...

she called me, and i told her it looked as if she was in 15th- not 16th spot, thus she was getting a second run.

i told her to go get her bib back, as i watch this live-timing website from pennsylvania. she couldnt believe me, that i had the access to this info.

She's at the start awaiting run two now, instead of heading to the local brew pub!

Thanks for sharing this info with us!

  3. Word from the finish line at Park City RTTC Slalom is:

Ben Fairchild III and Masaki in the consolation round

Tyler Jewell and Reiter in Finals

    and:

Erica Mueller vs Michelle Gorgone for Finals...

This is not official, as it is snowing and my athlete was a little tired, etc....

  4. the Park City RTTC should still be going on...

    i'm 35 this year. i've got a while. i know- i feel and look old :)

justin is fine- he took a crash the other day in training (again) but he's good.

look forward to seeing you and everyone at copper.

    good luck this weekend!

  5. working on one as we speak....

jimmy railey is skiing this year. just spoke to him a few days ago- he's loving life in park city.

havea good weekend at bromley. justin mattice will be there again- we're workign on his upper body mechanics a bunch. the kid has potential to be fast.

  6. Lee-

I am training him in Pennsylvania for about 10 days this month, then i return to Vail around March 5, after the WC PGS at Lake Placid, NY.

I will try to get ahold of you then, as we will be training for the USASA race at Copper that weekend.

    Hope all is well-

    Neil

  7. no worries my man.

just trying to keep everything positive when guys introduce new and hard to find equiptment, it seems they get bashed alot. what people dont understand is the effort that is required to purchase some of these new - hard to find products. oftentimes you wait for months to get the product- deal with sporadic (when you are lucky) emails, no directions whatsoever for mounting, etc...

i dont want to sound harsh- just trying to keep everyone honest.

  8. it's all about what you want to accomplish in snowboarding. $400 on risers? I wouldnt consider that alot of money for dampening performance and the value of added lift.

why are you hatin' lately on all the classifieds posts?

  9. i'll try to explain in a few words...

if i only had one brush, it would be the brass and nylon combination brush. this will clean the base the most, and remove any oxidization from the base prior to waxing. once you apply wax, you can still use the brass/nylon combi brush, just use it lightly - then proceed with scotch brite or fibertex.

if you were to just use the nylon, you would not remove any hardened base material during prep before waxing. i use the nylon brushes when removing softer waxes or flourocarbon overlays before a race run.

i hope this helps- i'd use a simple brass/nylon combi brush if i had to chose just one.

  11. Ride what you know, and look ahead of the gates.

take it easy for your first time-- about 50% to 70% of your "normal" agressiveness. and make turns that are smooth and carved about 2 feet away from the gates...

good luck, and have a great time! let us know how you do!

  12. Looking for anyting out there that a 5' 3" 130 pound 13 year old kid can race SL on.

    Thanks in advance-

UPDATE- THANKS EVERYONE FOR THEIR SUBMISSIONS!! I WILL KEEP YOUR EMAILS FOR MY FUTURE RIDERS COMING UP THROUGH THE RANKS. OUR GUY IS NOW RIDING A SLALOM STICK THAT FITS! THANKS- YOU GUYS ROCK!

  13. cranking the strap can lead to numb feet, and loss of feeling and sensitivity.

i personally NEVER "crank" anything on my boots. i like ot be able to have them fit snug, without movement through the use of custom made footbeds, heel lifts or wedges, and achilles / ankle pads or cross braces which make for a perfect fit...

perhaps you could redrill the buckles, so they can reach a comfortable yet secure hold down on your shin. you generally do not want space b/w your shin and the tongue of the boot/liner. i have seen neopene pads placed b/w the shinand the liner- not sure ofthe effectiveness..

the addition of a BOOSTER strap may alleviate your condition.

    check here for info: http://www.skimetrix.com/Home.html

most other "straps" on boots that come from the factory are simply not sufficient, and fall way short of proper hold down.
