  1. Hey Willem, yeah sorry about the tease...didn't realize my scan to post was so poor, I'm not exactly tech savy. I'll try again see if I can make it work. One thing I didn't really mention in previous post, was the Daytona's edge hold. Again to be clear **as an allmountain/freeride/brx board** I felt the edge hold to be pretty damn good. It really was impressive in conditions that were less than ideal for carving...locked into a turn I had the confidence it/we could bash/rip through the kind of lumpy mess most runs turn into at the end of a day! And BONUS for beauty points...the topsheet finish on these (colours, depth of colours, and gloss). ZL.
  2. Wow, that's great stuff guys! Love the video of J. Jones and the Turks. Good to see, and know, next time some "2 planker-wanker" starts yapping about skiing tradition and blah... Wonder how you say fresh pow in Turkish?
  3. Here is how SIMS described it: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/820/daytona00001.jpg/ Hope the link works? After cracking up my only board on rocks while in Whistler-spring 2000, I was scrambling for a board. Shop had a 166 marked down to good price (and the Sims brocohure, which I somehow still have and scanned), only board I ever bought new. 1 thing for sure, these things are tough, and solid!...mine finally died 1 1/2 years ago, edge and sidewall cracked. Although riding since mid 90s, I've only ridden handful of boards. I've always ridden a soft/flexy HB. I'm in Ottawa now, but put fair amount of mileage on Dyatona during years in western Can. Like I said, solid...but heavy! Then again the weight, helped give it that tank like feel. I always felt like I could bust/ram through, any crud or slop if I lacked the energy to turn through it. I always thought of it as a great boardercross board! Felt very stable at good speeds (considering type of board-not alpine). I took mine everywhere from moguls to pow(yeah not ideal I know). Heavy and stiff, but if you stayed aggressive and pushed it into turns, tight enough for short turns and even moguls! I think as far as the "forward loaded camber" like I said, aggressive, weighting nose of the board a little more...I found you could really dive into turns. For an aggressive SBooter, or a 1 board softer HB setup I think it did pretty well.
  4. Hey boardski, might be interested in the Identity. I've actually never heard of this board, but your comment comparing to the 3800 made me take notice. I've been out of the loop (gear-wise) forever, but recently trying to educate myself, mostly on here. So...I'm pretty sure I've read lots of good stuff re the 3800? You're familiar with both? I'm going to search for info myself, but wonder if you have info., links, ? I'd like to get a bigger AM, not necess. powder specific, but very powder capable, that can still carve along the way to and from that powder. Of course cheap is also key, as this would only be bought in case I do a last minute trip west...not much pow in Ottawa these days! And of course, would you ship to Ottawa---k2c-1t1 ? Thanks for any info., ZL.
  5. Hey mo both are still available, unfortunately the old three hole Burton discs I have are a different size. Don't know if they made any that would fit? You could post something on here to find out, and maybe source. Boots---all I have left are the 121s--size 7ish/mondo 25ish
  6. Thanks for the excellent suggestion queequeg. Of course results pops up from a number of different websites, but at the bottom of the first grouping of BOL results is the option "more results from bomberonline.com -clicking there gets you tons of BOL results!
  7. Sending more photos to Sammy now...Hilux needed canting... Rossis sold...all else available.
  8. Message sent to Miller, and Wolf. Keeping 124s...brown 323s, thermoflex liners, and 121s still available. ZL.
  9. These came in an older pair of raichles I bought recently. I was able to re-bake the 26.5s I had in previous boots...so these are available. I was told by previous owner they were only baked once at store when purchased, and boots were worn approx. 25 (mostly 1/2 ) days. They look almost new! If interested, make an offer and I'll get back to you. Just so you know..I'm awaiting response on sale of other boots and these may or may not go with that sale.
  10. Hey all, shortly after the website was redesigned I was having trouble searching, but I figured it was a kink that would be resolved in time by the great people behind this site (YES...WE REALLY DO APPRECIATE EVERYTHING THEY DO FOR US !!). Just signed on for first time in a bit and found same problems when searching for info.. 1 very strange thing I've found is the very few results I'm getting are all from 2003 ?!? Anyone else having same problem? Should say I'm pretty low tech, but I always managed to search out good results previous to redesign. Anyways..does anyone have suggestions to get better results when searching? In paticular, let's say I'm searching for info/opinions on a particular model of boots (ie. raichle 124). As always..any help greatly appreciated! ZL.
  11. Hi Dave, is it possible a really small adult binding would fit? I've got "Base" Snopros that were being used with mondo size 25 (?) boots, with a fair bit of downsizing adjustability left. By quick, rough measurements ends of bail to bail adjusted to 25 boots was 30 cm (boot locked in position), and adjusted to smallest size measured 27cm. Thought it to be worth a try, let me know, Lino. CORRECTION*** Sorry...got'em mixed up, pair that seem to allow smaller adjustment are the "Hot" bindings, believe there just rebranded Snopros. (I've got them both for sale)
  12. Local strikes again! Sold to Graham P. Hope you enjoy the new steup Graham! Maybe we'll see you out there ??? sometime? Thanks
  13. Sale pending on X-Bones to Sammy; Hilux to checkout S.pros/Hots in coming days locally. I'll update according. Lino
  14. I'm not sure how this works (only couple weeks ago that I crawled outa the cave and plugged myself into this puter thingy), tried replying to BOL's email notific. last night, and it came back undelivered! No time to figure it out now...we'll try this meantime. GRAHAM P., sorry for the slow response...super busy with work! I've had lots of interest... for couple guys sizing didn't work, but at this point all are still available. If still interested, give me a call anytime om my cell-613-809-1518, and we'll go from there. I'll be around for part of the weekend if good for you. Talk soon, Lino.
  15. Rossis sold to Unitednihilists...thanks and good luck with the new setup! Awfully nice to deal locally, quick and easy.
  16. Hey guys, sorry for the delay...got a little busy with work, and will be for couple more days. Holy locals!...who knew Ottawa was the HB capital of ...ok maybe not, but I have had a fair bit of local response. Unitednihilists bought pair of bindings Sat. Same morning, Redman came by looking for boots but sizing didn't work out, too bad. Need to get back to Graham (also local), will message now. Wolf, I need to talk to Graham, then I'll get back to you...I'm hopeful we can still work something out. Lots of interest, but no deals yet.
  17. Wolf is up 1st, Redman (local) 2nd, Spartan Pilot 3rd up. We'll work on shipping costs, fit, and update accord.
  18. While searching out some "newish" gear for myself I picked up a bunch of older gear that I thought maybe someone could use. All 4 sets are I believe late 90's era. It seems they all have the same history: bought new by people wanting to try boarding, used 30 days max before owners went back to skiing, or had family...in storage ever since. All look to be in original working order except as noted on Raichles. Inexpensive stuff for someone starting out, lighter riders, or..? Also inexpensive boots (sizes 24.5-26.5) selling on other listing. All prices are plus shipping. First 2 sets were bought in France, while couple was living there. I mention this because I don't think "Hot Bindings" are very common around here. Both sets were mounted on "Hot" boards, I guess while in France.. She was on smaller side of average for ladies, he was definately lightweight -150lbs max. Snopro-Base--I know the "Snopro Race" are popular, I'm guessing these are just their "base/entry level"--$50 OBO Hot--these are actually identical to ones above with "Hot" branding-$50 OBO Rossignol--these actually look pretty solid. They have a little cant built into the baseplates. boardski said "used them a couple years with no issues, so if mounted properly and your not an aggressive clydsdale, they should work for you" in response to a thread seeking info. on them.--SOLD
  19. As mentioned-1 small rip on 1 liner of 121 Vibram soles on 121s--bit of dirt, but not much wear "Fast Step-Ins"--tested with X Bone binding in living room, everything seems solid. Small piece broken off of binding-see binding listing if interested. Yes heels are on mismatched boots..was checking "swap-abilities"
  20. Stumbled across a nice stash of older boots with lots o' life left in them, while searching for myself! They all had similiar story: bought new, tried it (boarding) out for awhile, then went back to skiing, or started family...sitting in storage since. I've given liner size, and shell size (lower boot portion of shell). All buckles , leen/flex mechanism, liners, etc., work as original except where I've specified. Pricing based on what I've seen here and ebay ( been searching classifieds for my own pair). Too high?...make me an offer. Not in a rush to sell, so if you tell me "they're worth nothing", I'll wait for reasonable offer. More info. or questions just ask. Ideal fit for me is a 27.0, but for time being will probably keep pair of 323s for self (likely browns), I don't want step-ins so.. Raichle's "Fast Step-in" heels came on the brown 323--could be swapped to blue 323, or 124s. (possibly sold seperately) X-Bone Step-in binders also available--offers? 124 --size 26-26.5 shell, Raichle Thermoflex liner 26.0--photo, molded once. $150 Excellent condition--(+/-)20-25 days use by lighter gentleman, who appears to have taken very good care of his gear (based on same-era board which I also bought) 323--(blue)-size 26-26.5 shell, original liner 26.5 --SOLD Very good condition--used less than 30 (mostly 1/2) days (prev. owner said he'd usually try boarding in A.M. then ski afternoon) 323--(brown)-size 26-26.5 shell, orig. liner 26.5 --SOLD Good condition--used less than 30 days--outside of cant adjuster on 1 boot is slightly worn -see photo 2x121--size 7(?), $85 pair with small crack on liner--$100 for other The sizing on these is a bit odd (they were bought by couple living in France at time-don't know if that explains sizing ?). They said they both wear a 39-euro size Both pairs have same size 7 shell boot- liners on one pair say 7 - other pair say 26.0 (which makes no sense?) Very good condition. Vibram soles. Only used while on vacation, so approx. 20-25 days - liner with 26.0 marking has small crack where front edge of ankle closes on tongue--see photo
  21. The "grado di liberta" translates roughly to "degree of freedom/flex" which is what I like about these old Burtons...thanks jacopodotti..un bicchiere..o due, per securo! Everything seems "too expensive" when you're broke (tranne il vino) ! The F2s seem to be a good replacement option. Does anyone know how the Titanium model compares to the Carve RS as far as flex and strength? What about the F2s versus Ibex? Forgot about yyzcanuck, thanks Puddy Tat, I'll definately check them out when buying new. Thanks carvedog, good to hear the confidence/encouragement...some of us don't have $ to buy new gear every year..personally I'm putting the bum back in "board/ski-bum"! If I can get new bails, probably do that, meantime..I'll doublecheck those trouble spots. I've heard of NDT, but didn't think there was a do-at-home version? boardski, thanks and... I've got your replacements if interested!?
  22. Thanks to everyone for the input. As I was pretty sure I'd heard before, the concensus seems to be that it's just a matter of time till somepart of the Burtons fail. I don't think I want to be on them when they do. So the ??remains: what is a good solid replacement, that's not too stiff? I'm sure it'll = more $ than I can spend now, but for future reference I'm going to start another thread. As for rossis, I saw the same listed in classified awhile back and there seemed to be a couple of people interested from previous experience...going to see if I can find them for input. ibrussell--as seen in photo, I already had to replace 1 lever skategoat--I wonder if they were the same model of Rossis? The base on these are actually solid metal (quite heavy), only the blocks holding the bales are some sort of plastic. But then I wonder if like most things, it would only be as strong as it's weakest part? I've wanted to buy stronger bindings for a while, but don't want them too stiff. RE- your avatar, the longest skating rink in the world is now open! jacopodotti--mine are a different model/era of Burton. Mi piace l'idea corda, ottimo per quando sono fuori forma! E 'passato troppo tempo da quando ho visitato la patria, devono andare a vedere i parenti .. che stanno invecchiando. Sul brillante lato, se vado in inverno ho potuto finalmente di snowboard in Italia, spero tu possa darmi dei consigli su dove. dano--like I said, experienced binding failure once...don't want to live that "rush" again! But.. what,s solid without being too stiff? Gtanner--'97 eh.. ya think it's time for an update! But what? Solid butnot too stiff? How's Fort Mac for ya? I maybe coming back if decent job doesn't happen soon. Heard things are picking up again? icebiker--thanks for the link, forgot about that site, found lots of good info there in the past but had never checked out there binding info. New bales may be an idea, original ones are ok now, but like Gtanner said "15 years old", kinda worrisome. May checkout replacements, but then wonder if money better spent on all new? Thanks again. jtslalom--Rossis ?--the mounting disc has their logo on it, and there is no other manuf. markings on it so..? Curious what you replaced broken bales on the Burtons with? How did they compare to originals?
  23. Trying out softies last season convinced me that a HB setup is still for me the best way to go. Problem is budget is tight, so my 2 options for bindings are both relics from late 90s. One is the standard Burton Race Plates-bought new by me '99-2000?...with lots of hard miles on them. Other option is a pair of Rossi bindings found while searching for "new-to-me" boots. Smaller guy said he used them 20-30 times when starting, they look kinda solid, but..?. They have some canting built into the bases, which is something I liked on one of my early setups. Sad to say, I won't be riding much this year, but if everything feels good I do like to ride fairly aggressively, and I weigh 190. I'm aware metal fatigues with age and stress, and cheaper bindings can fail many ways (experienced..yikes!). I know TD1s come up for sale cheap, but (if I understand correctly what I've read here) I think they're too stiff for my liking? Any suggestions what I should look for in the future? Ideally it would be more flexi/forgiving for allmtn freeriding, but industrial strength so breakage is not a concern. So..any opinions/info./advice on whether I can trust one of these bindings to give me 1 more year of service? Any, and all input appreciated!
