  1. if anyone has a pair, i'm looking for them :)
  2. Any idea of the specs on that Osin 3800?
  3. Good to know the year -- thank you. I think it's a tough time to sell a board, with the Christmas/Holiday season and we're all supposed to be thinking about other people.... So if anyone feels like indulging themselves, you heard it - the BEST year for Tankers. And this one is cherry. I'd like to sell it, but I don't have to. Getting a fat quiver, the wife is taking a few double-takes on the wall. Just bought a new Fish for deep tree days, and also a Never Summer 169 soft boot carver/powder/all-arounder. Have another 4 boards on top of that, so this one is probably overkill. Going on eBay if there are no takers in the next few days. Merry Christmas and happy carving everyone!
  4. First $300 takes it! I'm in Bend, Oregon for shipping calculations...
  5. Here are the photos. The board has a "summer wax" coat on it to protect, thus the white marks.
  6. When I get home from work I'll upload pics :) Thanks for the interest! Price - am thinking $350.
  7. Not sure what year it's from, maybe 2007? It's white. Long. Stiff. Sick. Can put some pics up if anyone's interested. Selling it to make room in the quiver for some new boards. Base is in extremely good condition. Not a nick, scratch, nothing but smooth.
  8. They just announced the new shape: http://www.winterstick.com/tomburt.php?nid=1 Looks pretty sweet. Anyone have experience on the older models? How did they perform for you? This year's has a bunch of taper and almost 11 meters of sidecut. Big elongated nose. Looks sick, like it will mach in pow and chop. This makes my board decision even harder.
  9. i'm looking for a Tom Burt, the 2005-06 model. thanks for any leads. -adam
  10. i rode my Undertaker yesterday in about 7" on 20", pretty deep in sections that had been closed for 2 days prior to the storms. it is an amazing ride. in open, deep bowls there's just nothing like it really. you are free from having to lean back and firmly over your feet. it is quick to plane and extremely fast. the nose is on top floating or busting crud, as the case may be. you can scream huge powder-pluming turns at very little speed sacrifice. the feeling is totally euphoric. well those who have never tried a swallow will never know. the fish/malolo/khyber boards are fun in deep and treed and the maneuverability is great when things are tight. but they're too short. i think the basic aversion people have to snowboard length is partly what keeps them from the longer swallows. personally, i'm all about the right tool for the job. there are times when a short, highly tapered board is perfect. a few seasons ago we were stuck cat skiing in steep trees after 8 feet of snow fell in 3 days, making open slopes avy prone. a tapered, shorter board there was perfect. but later on the trip when things consolidated and we ended up in the open pow-filled bowls, the swallowtail allowed me to go about twice as fast and have twice the fun. but on a heli trip in the Chugach i needed a long effective edge and shorter running length to minimize swing weight for the steep gnarly stuff. a 166 w/ a 10m sidecut was the choice, directional w/ only slight taper and stiff to allow for the high speeds that are a function of Alaskan lines. all about the right tool for the job, at least that's how i rationalize my quiver of boards! :)
  11. That's great - thanks for the input. Kinda what I thought... I'd still like to try the Ambush sometime. The A-frame is a killer riding board, have fun with that this season.
  12. I used to ride an A-Frame too (170cm). I'd be interested in your comments on how the Ambush compares. I've heard good reviews of the Ambush. Is it stiff enough? It seems like a good groomer machine that will still rip the pow. How much taper does it have? I guess I can get all the specs online - just looking for some experiences - especially compared to the A-Frame.
  13. that's what i thought - last year in the Chugach i brought my 181 Tanker and 170 Munoz. i ended up on the Arbor the whole time for one reason. it was shorter than the Tanker. it wasn't stiff enough, but i couldn't imagine pulling out my long board up there - it's freakin' steep and gnarly. some of the exposure made me swirly (i have no fear of exposure normally). bottom line is swing weight -- it will absolutely kill you up there. that's why the sicko boys are riding 168's MAX length (unless you're Tom Burt, but he's inhuman). 161's are pretty common. next time i'm going w/ my stiff 165 Ambush, stiff binders and the right mindset. it's a whole 'nother word in Alaska!
  14. would this qualify? it's last year's Ambush, 165 cm and fairly stiff, progressive dual sidecut. i've ridden it about 3 times.
  15. please send again to: adam at audettemedia.com still have both boards, RT is yours if you want it. thanks adam
  16. Both in near perfect condition, barely ridden. RT: $200 K2 Instinct: $220
  17. Porfidio is crap. Well, not really. But for the price you can do MUCH better. here are a few tips from a seasoned "Oaxacan". Herradura is the BEST bang for the buck. their reposado is great if you're on a budget. El Corazon and Corralejo are great for the price. The anejo and reposado (respectively) are fantastic. El Chamuco Blanco is an excellent agave at a decent price. In general, stay away from the Cabo Wabo, Patron, and Sauza selections, although the Patron is the best of this selection. You can't go wrong in picking up a bottle of Chinaco anejo... Basically, try as many quality tequilas as you can (hopefully side by side). They are all different and uniquely delightfu..
  18. sweet condition. i bought it on this site about a year ago and have never ridden it. it's like new, nary a scratch on this thing. base is sweet. camber still sweet. $250 is what I paid if I remember correctly. First $200 takes it. i'm trying to finance a new Prior and selling some stuff to bankroll / appease the wife. i'll package it nice and put a fresh coat of summer wax on for protection. interested please email: adam@audettemedia.com Thanks adam ps - i have 2 huge high resolution pics of the board and base if you want.
  19. I just got back from the shop --- and carried home my new Undertaker! I decided to go for the Rossi because of the positive remarks here. I'm stoked and really fired up to ride this beast. Too bad I didn't have it last week when we had about 25" of fresh pow well it does feel good that i got it for 40% off though
  20. thanks for the info Nils! i went and checked both of them out today. the Nitro has a much wider nose shape, and a wider waist. the nose is definitely on the soft side compared to the Rossi. the Rossi is fairly narrow at the waist. both boards felt good and stiff at the mid-section. one other difference is the tail - the Rossi has that "classic" swallow tail and the Nitro has a much wider swallow section (i mean the section between the two "fins" of the tail). wonder if this effects the ride on hardpack? still a hard decision for me. i use only a soft boot / binding setup so not a concern there. how about you Raphael - were you using hard boots or soft?
