  1. SG 175 now on ebay but if you buy here I'll sell it for $40 less, Everett
  2. Oxygen, SG and TD1s are all still for sale, and I am open to offers. I need to update the TD1s as one pair being toe clip only with some step in parts (heel recievers). Thanks, Everett
  3. I am not in Russia, I am in Denver Colorado, are you interested in the Oxygen? Everett
  4. [h=5]Hi everyone, here is the first in a video series about the Steamboat Snowboard Race team, who we are, how we do what we do and why we love this sport! This is the story of the early morning training we did the past few weeks at Copper Mountain, it takes hard work to get onto the podium but it's also a blast! Stay tuned for more....[/h] And for those that missed the action here is some of the raw video from the Nor-ams; Enjoy and come join us at Steamboat next month for the next Nor-am on the 14th and 15th! https://www.facebook.com/events/112296212268111/

  6. I had a buddy hook me up (Kevin Eiesman for those of you who know him) and I am all set now.
  7. I have a Oxygen 160 Titanal that I am selling for $200, great board won races on it, lot's of snap, only needs a base grind which I could have done if you buy it. Everett evnewsphoto@yahoo.com
  8. Bringing it to the masses is the idea, so spread it around! I am also planing on doing some videos about spreading the word of what carving on a snowboard is, as Fin has called it "Carving for Dummies." In my day job I make marketing videos for health care and it's all about placement and getting people who you would never think of to watch the videos, that's my goal now with this. If anyone has ideas about where to post videos to the joe schmo snowboarder or ex skier that has never seen what we do, please let me know, I always love getting the feedback. Stay tuned and glad you guys like it! Everett PS we got snow at Loveland and they are opening another trail this weekend, that's where I'll be enjoying my new Revs in the morning!
  9. Hi everyone, I know it's not fun to be asked to watch a video these days, especially if it's political! But I have a new commercial I just made for Sean and Donek, it will be part of a series about Donek and who they are and how they build the boards. I wanted to share with everyone here on Bomber because there is no better group of eyeballs for it. You don't have to buy a board from Sean (but I recommend you do!), just check out the story; Everett McEwan EM Productions http://www.facebook.com/EverettMcEwanProductions?ref=hl
  10. Please email me if you have a pair to sell, thanks! Everett McEwan evnewsphoto@yahoo.com
  11. Oh yeah, old pics of the TD1s; Please note that I had to steal one set of toe bails for the newer bindings I bought (td2s) and so one set is incomplete but comes with toe bails and is only in need of the correct heal bail parts. Fin and Michelle told me they are not interchangeble- the toe and heal bails- but you still get all the extra step in parts if you chose that too, so both options. I know these sell pretty well on ebay still so I will go that route if nobody here buys them. I also had some intrest at the end of the year last season but never finalized that, but still open to those guys (sorry can't remember who) if they want to jump in. Thanks.
  12. And I still have these old pics, bindings are the same as above;

  14. I am droping the price on the 175 to $450 obo shipped in the US, I can do outside of US for extra. I know that repair on the delam is not that pretty, but do you really need the tail topsheet to look pretty? It will ust be collectiing dust in my garage and I would love for someone else to go win some races on it, it is still in great shape. Also still have my Oxygen 160 that I need to post pics of, that is also still in great shape but could use a base grind, selling that for $200 plus shipping. And 2 TD1s for $90 each, those will go on ebay otherwise. Thanks, Everett
  15. It is not a rumor when it has happened to me and plenty of other racers, and I was also relaying what I was told by SG directly that they do not recomend riding thier boards without plates at all, no matter what binding you have on. I stand by what I know and I just don't want to see anyone else break a board, why would that be bad? Maybe there are folks who are gently freecarving on these boards and not racing SL like I was and they have not broken them yet, but it's something they should be careful of. Like I said ask SG or Kessler yourself, and why would they recomend that you must use a plate? Afterall Kessler even makes a plate to go with thier boards. Anyways enough of the argument, I am just trying to give poor Mark some advice as to what board works best for him, you can all buy what you want like I have said before, it's a free market.
  16. Mark, I can tell you that I rode the Rev 175 without the plate before I bought Sean's new Vist type plate to go with it and it rode just fine with direct mounted TD2s. Without going into a long story (you may want to look at mine and other people's post) the plates do two things, the suspension Bomber/Apex/Donek plates dampen and separate you from the board and not something I like, but can help on ice but also can make chatter worse. They require you to be perfectly balanced and aligned, then they work like a charm, if not and you rotate your hips a little or lean in then you start to head towards the trees... That is why they are great for guys on the world cup but can be brutal for the rest of us. The second kind of plate is what I use now, I went from the first generation of Donek plate to the Vist plate and now Sean's new plate based on that, there is also the Kessler plate. They are all basically a chunk of plastic to go between the board and binding, they spread out the load on the inserts (why you need them on an SG or Kessler- inserts will fail otherwise) and provide leverage and make the board plow through things better. But the great thing is they don't change the feel of the board and it still feels like snowboarding, the best way to go in my opinion. That said you don't need a plate with the new Revs because Sean has made them stronger than other metal boards and they won't fail at the inserts without a plate. I know Vermont ice well, I am from Albany originally and went to college in northern VT (Lyndon State) and coached at Stratton once, I think you not only would like a metal Titanal board but really benefit from it. I love how they dampen things (they have rubber in there) and give you so much power at the same time due to the snap of the Titanal. Start with the board and don't worry about plates, and new boots yet, I am still using my old Raichles and older TD2 bindings. It is worth it to get a new board but the rest you don't need to rush if you are watching pennies. Good luck and let us all know if you have anymore questions and help, Everett
  17. Hi Mark, I rode the FP 178 for many years and loved it and I would tell you to go with a 175 since they ride the same, I like a "shorter board" for GS, gives me some wiggle room but still runs long. You may notice my post on my Rev 175 and why I went with that, but I also still have my SG 175 that I am selling (hint, hint) and since I have some miles on that it is a bit softer/broken in. I am sure your 178 has been broken down a bit too. I would also tell you that the metal/titanal seems stiff if you flex it a store but once you ride it, they feel softer just with a snappy feel, like your 178 when it was new. I also think the main difference now is the varible sidecut and how you can slide and set with these boards, they respond so quickly. That said the are not just for racing but are a blast to freecarve with. Boards have come a long way since the FPs, which I loved, and now that I have been on them for a few years (SG then Revs- Kesslers are the same) I can tell you the grass is much greener. Good luck. Everett
  18. I backed away and did not want to get things stired up and I am glad Sean offered up what he did (sorry to drag you into this Sean) that is all I was trying to make a point about- the stronger inserts on his boards and the peace of mind it gives me. SG boards are awesome to ride but if I can get the same specs from Sean with a stronger desgin why wouldn't I? It is only a consumer choice. I just bought a brand new car yesterday- a Ford C-Max Hybird, and just like the boards it has very similar competetion in the form of the Prius, but it is better across the board in mpg, price and handeling (47 mpg and $25k) it was a no brainer. If you can get an improvement on a great design why not? And as a side note before I back away again- thank you Jack for the point about Burton FPs and TD1s, I rode the same 1997 FP 157 for Slalom for around 10 years, the flex broke down long before I ever riped out an insert, and that was direct mounted! I don't know what Burton does now but my guess is they learned these leassons a long, long time ago back when they started with T-nuts in the P-tex. I used to go to the Factory in Manchester VT (before they moved- it was a small house in fact) when I was growing up and buy direct from them. In 1989 I bought the Burton Mystery Air (secret Craig Kelly board) and had the first generation of yellow high back freestyle bindings. I broke those once a month! I would go get new ones and keep riding. The next year guess what? They improved those bindings with stronger thicker plastic (now white with "air" written on them) and they stopped breaking them as much. My point is like Sean said, if stuff is breaking you as a manufacture can either eat the cost and just replace them (like SG is doing) or you can actually address the problem and fix the design flaw. That is what works better in the long term for both the seller and the buyer of the product. If that concept is herecy against all that is holly as some of you guys think then you are poor consumers and deserve what you buy. The free market always wins (I am a Democrate by the way) and I only urge you to make the right choice when buying a board. I know I did. Everett
  19. Why do you guys have to start this again? I do have respect for SG but not Elan who makes the bad inserts. I said the TD1s were part of it but the inserts are also poorly done. I know this because of seeing what they look like and hearing about what the boards have on the inside when you cut them open. And as far as riding these boards I have, rode them at Nationals when Sean and Fin had the demo tents set up (photo on the home page). Like I said I am just updateing you all on my consumer choice that I have made and giving a vote of confidence to Sean and his boards, it is because I do not want another failure. Can you blame me for being nervious about cracking another? As the old saying goes fool me once.... By the way I now have evidence that even with a VIST plate and new generation Bombers you can still crack the topsheet. I know you all want that to be shared but it is confidental and I will maybe share it latter. Alright let's all move on and not snipe, I am moving on and I am not looking for a fight just trying to warn others and help Sean sell more Revs (he is not paying me or anything- I just believe in the difference). Snipe on if you want but I am done debating for now, I wish you all the best and looking forward to the season! Take care, Everett
  20. Yes they are lighter than the VIST and they are so much easier to mount, they go into the UPM pattern and not the 4-hole (you need a UPM pattern board) and Sean is even making them from recycled plastic so they are "green!" The really cool thing also is that there is a small slider on the front mounts similar to a bomber plate or other suspension type plates, allowing the board to flex. Both mounting points are recessed, and the slider can't pop out, they also have really nice hardware; hex nuts- not the screws like VIST. It's the best of both worlds and should still give me the direct contact with the board I loved about the VIST plates. Not sure when Sean will have them for sale (these are prototypes) but it should be very soon, they are mature well thought out designs, Sean put a lot of thought into these along with the Steamboat guys and Converse especially from what I understand. Here is the video for those who missed it: As far as SG, I am very happy with how things turned out and they were good to me, I never said otherwise. I wanted to update everone on my post from last year and all that happened but could not find the old thread so I just started a new one. I feel that even though my TD1s were part of it, I am not alone in the problem and know that it could still happen even with a VIST plate, the inserts are the problem. Like I said SG does a great job, but building inserts to a lower standard (there is some international industry standard maxium pressure test they use meant for all boards- freestyle boards) that does not test for maxium race g-forces is going to result in a weaker core/insert standard. Sean I know had decided a long time ago (when TD2s came out) that he wanted to build his inserts at a stronger pressure point (he told me the number I don't remember) that is why I made my choice. It is a free market and I am only wanting to offer everyone my experience and share why I think one board is stronger than the other. I would still ride and race on an SG any day if they fixed this one issue. Sean has fixed the issue in my opion (and others I know agree and urged me to buy these boards) and I am trying to advise anyone who tends to be bigger and stronger (i.e. breaks stuff) to look at the great product that Sean is making. It is equal to the SGs on snow, almost the same exact specs- rides the same, but they are just built stronger. My choice is my choice, everyone else is free to buy what they want and I will still cheer for Sigi and Just Rieter and everyone else on SGs, they are awesome boards. Kesslers too. But I will trust my Doneks and show up at the start with them and that is all I wanted to share. Everett
  21. My new rides; My old rides; Great boards! But this is what happened to my old SG 163; It's why I switched to VIST plates (now have the new Donek plate) and I was very lucky that SG helped me with a replacement board but I don't want that to happen again. I am not trying to bad mouth SG, they were good to me and I don't blame them for the manufacturing that they contract out, Sigi makes awesome boards and they do win races. But I can't always swap boards every year either before they wear out and or break. I still have the 175 and unless someone buys it (it's for sale) I will use it as a backup board. The Doneks are equal to SGs (I rode them last March to compare and they are exactly the same) but Sean knows how to build them strong and has inserts that can handle way more than the SGs, that is why I believe in what he has made and know I can trust them under my feet. It's bad enough to have a board fail in training but what if it happens in a race? Just ask Mark Fawcet about his second run at Nagano. Failure is not an option. Enough said.
  22. Thanks to Bryan's help above both plates have sold to Joe, thanks again Bryan! Everett
  23. Mr "Oldsnowboards" you are a kind and helpful soul! Mr. John Deer, I have two VIST plates I am looking to sell, our friend above pointed each other to our post, so drop me a line about the plates! Everett evnewsphoto@yahoo.com
  24. Hello, even though I have added it to my SG 175 for sale posting, I want to list it separately for those that don't read past the headers. Here are the two plates and they are in good shape as can be seen and I replaced some of the screws that were worn out with fresh ones. I bought them used (here on the forum) and only used them about a month or so. $200 each O.B.O Bindings not included, the 175 SG is still for sale and the 163 has sold. Thanks!
