  1. Neil you retired!! I will miss racing you my old friend.... As far as my experience with the plate it's been good but hard to get used to, here is my thoughts that I sent Sean the other day since he asked for feedback; " I finally feel like I am getting comfortable with the plate and it helped me do well in the GS on Sat up at Howleson I think. I know you asked for feedback so here are a few things; I have found that it really forces me to go back to basics on my balance, which is a good thing, it amplifies my bad habbits like over rotation of my upper body from years of too step of a stance, I have since lowered my stance from 55/50 to 45/40 and that has helped a lot. Training ar Eldora helped too since Matt Drinker and Galen Goldscheitter worked with me on how to be more stable and what to do with the plate. The upshot is that to make it work you have to be stable in your stance over the board with no rotation- more sideways than you might think, a freestyle stance more than a Eurocarve stance. I am trying to keep my shoulders and hips lined up exactly with that 45 degree stance and no movement at all, that is the key to it. I know you might have some freecarvers out there that have bought the plate and for them it will be really hard to adapt, maybe pass on the stance thing since some of those guys are riding at 70 or so. " I also have T-nuted my 14 year old Factory Prime 157 so I could try it with the plate, and it helps and hurts just the same, I would say it applified the chatter but also let me throw my weight around a lot more fore and aft. The board is close to being dead and has no snap left so I was thinking it would make the board ride better, but I found that the lack of energy was still the same. Here are some pics; Bottom line, it doesn't make snowboarding easier but harder, but if you can be balanced and perfect it rewards you with a better carve. Everett
  2. Guys, thanks for the info, I guess I will pass on it and get something else. I notice that the video was shot on the Main vain at Copper, you can see the trail signs in the background and the dreaded a-hole "speed patrol" at the slow sign- the video cuts off as they are yelling at the rider! I hate those idiots, they are aparently the people who flunk the ski patrol test at Copper didn't want to turn them away so instead they yell at me when I am raceing or training (I used to be on the Copper team) because I am carving but they ignore the kid who is in a tuck going straight but snowplowing because he's a beginer. But don't get me started.... And sorry if I annoyied that one guy with the double post, just trying to spread out my question.
  3. Sorry to duplicate the thread, just asking both forums. Does anyone know anything about these boards? I have never heard of them and don't know if they are real race boards (I need a new Slalom board) or freecarveing. The seller is useless and has no info on what the board is other than it's from Japan, he didn't even know what sidecut was. I asked why the split tail and he didn't know. Thanks for any help, Everett http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200576400258&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123

  5. Does anyone know if these boards are still for sale? There was no response from my email.
  6. Sent you an email- interested in the 156 Sls, thanks, Everett
  7. The 178 has been sold, the 157 is still up for sale, thanks Everett
  8. prices reduced, I will take offers, just email me; evnewsphoto@yahoo.com I'll give you guys another week or so and then they go on ebay. Everett
  9. Up for sale two extra boards I don't need; Ultra Prime 157, 190 waist (don't know the year) that I only rode 4 runs on and was previously owned but used lightly (had dust on it when I got it) and lot's of life left with very few nicks and good, almost new edges. $99.00+shipping 2003 Speed prototype 178, 200 waist, this was my main GS board before I got my Donek and was my second 178, it rides exactly like the Factory Prime 178. It is a bit beat up on the top sheet with a section of the nose chiped off in the lift line by an A-hole skier but that will not affect the riding at all, base and edges are good, had a stone ground before nationals the last year I rode it (2005) if I remember correctly. $100.00+ shipping I can accept Pay-pal payments and then ship or you could mail me a check and wait for it to clear if you are in no rush. I am in the Denver area and can always meet up inperson. Thanks, Everett
  10. Looking for something that is a 157m with a 4 hole, also how is the stiffness on it? Is price firm or are you open to haggleing? Thanks, Everett
  11. sorry I should have posted that, good luck finding some!
  12. Looks like 3 hole and I think there is a cant on the back from what I can see in the photos, I just emailed the seller and I will update you when I know. Thanks, Everett
  13. I just bought an Ultra Prime 57 on ebay, hoping it races the same as my beat up Factory Prime 157. It comes with Burton race plates I don't need the bindings so want to offer them up to you guys, after they arrive. Does $90 plus shipping sound good? If not make me an offer, I live in the Denver area so in person pick up is an option if you are in CO too. You can e-mail me at evnewsphoto@yahoo.com Thanks, Everett
  14. Mike just put a General Lee sticker on it I believe. I forgot to mention it will mount to a standard board and hole pattern (I gues 4 and 5 hole) the mount for the pivot point is similar to the TD base plate but with the bar accross for the pin.
  15. I don't think it's that secret since Trappy and the team raced on them all year. It is a platform of Carbon Fiber very stiff (although Adam said it flexed a lot) and it has two attatchment points below that are pins that go into a hole on the mount to the board (across the width) and I think one of them floats fore and aft. It looks similar to the Apex plate but does not stick out in front as much. The pins allow it to pivot and float while the board flexs with an inch or so clearance and the bindings then mount to the plate itself (I saw inserts in the Carbon). Very nicely done, I would expect nothing less from Fin, I hope he's not mad at me know for spilling the beans, but all anyone would have to do is go drive up to Howleson to see them. As much as I love my Bombers and trust Fin, I just think the price is too much at $7-800
  16. If this is still available I would be interested too drop me a line evnewsphoto@yahoo.com Is it a SL or GS sidecut? I remeber they made GS sidecuts for little kids- I once had a 1998 163 FP that was not a Slalom board (thought it was when I bought it)
  17. I see in the pics that VIST plate, that's what the guy who beat me was riding that I couldn't remeber the name of. And I did see that article about Jasey Jay and Apex but they aren't selling the Apex plate (some dispute about royalities), too bad. I like your set up with the stacking but I am using TD 1s (with step ins) and I don't think it would work, maybe I need to try that oar thing.... I forgot to mention that back in the mid 90s I cut some Derbyflex plates (for skis) in half and mounted them under my old CATs (the heel clips) and it made the chatter 10 times worse than with out so I abandoned them after a short trial period. I remeber tring to expoy them on but never really finding a good way to attach them other then pressure from the binding. It's funny how we re-invent the wheel sometimes. Thanks for the info and keep it coming!
  18. I took two years off of racing because I became a Dad and man there were a lot of changes in those two years! When I last raced I was up to date with my Doneck and TD1s with step ins and I thought I was all set. I then decided to get back into when I was watching the olympics and that's when I first saw things were different on the boards, I slow-moed the DVR a lot in wonderment. I went on to win a 7th alpine tilte at USASA nationals by the way in Master men- 1st SL, 2nd GS. I then saw Trappy and few other guys from Steamboat riding crazy plates and others with stacks under thier bindings at the Copper Race (Rocky Mtn series). Then my friend Jason who beat me in GS at nationals riding a Kessler with black plastic plates (I think they were EAS or something like that) said it best, "you need a new set up!" Latter that day Adam Cassanova (coach at Steamboat) showed me his "Bomber plate" made of Carbon fiber that he was working on with Fin, and I guess that's what the team has been riding, it looked great but he said it will sell for $7-800! That seems a bit steep to me. I wanted to see what other plates are out there and wanted to ask for everone's 2 cents before next year. Not sure who else is making them and where I would start looking. I heard that the US snowboard team took canoe oars and mounted those to the board but that sounds too cheap to me. Also I guess a lot of people have been making thier own. Thanks for any and all insight and help! At least I have all summer to look for a new set up.
  19. I have only riden this board 3 times and it was brand new when I picked it up, so the base and edges are perfect and has a fresh coat of wax on it. The stats are as follows, 158 length, 137 running length, waist width 210, sidecut depth 27 mm, and sidecut radius 8.7m. I bought it for $250 but will let it go for $200 or best offer plus shipping (not sure what that would be but I am guessing at least $15-20). This is a great Slalom board and they don't make it anymore (this is the last year they made it- 2004) so it is very hard to find, so grab this while you can! I also would be interested in tradeing this for a brand new factory prime 158 200 waist width (or knocking some money off for a used one) , I prefer the older boards (I have one already but it's geting thin on the edges) so that is why I don't want this board. I will consider any offers!
  20. Those of you who like theses boots know they are hard to find (no longer made) and they perform great for snowboarding provideing a stiffer and firmer performace than most snowboard boots. Ideal for raceing. Raichle based thier popular snowboard boots on these boots and they are ultra adjustable with lattleral (rare in a ski boot) and foreward flex. These are very lightly used, I got them from a skier who used them only a few time a year (he was a typical Fred) and they are in great shape. Although they are size 8/12 (acording to outer shell) I was able to fit in them (I am a 9 1/2) and if you used some thermaflex bladers they should work for someone in a 9-10 range. Ask Fin if he can help you with that (he sells thermoflex bladders). Before I put them on e-bay I wanted to let you fellow racers here on bomber have first dibs on them. I will sell them for 45$ plus shipping but will take best offer also, contact me with questions.
